Earlier in the week I had the misfortune to hear and see the video of so-called 'rapper' Eskimo Supreme called Spit in it ….. if ever there was a case for an argument about modern music becoming uglier by the year this is it ….. although one can hardly call it music or even rap ….. it is just loud noise ….. but sadly it will sell to an audience ….. those who crave anti Brit propaganda + smut + bad language including the c and f words ….. it is all there in spades ….. the average low life will love it ….. in the older days people had to have talent to be famous in music …. you would not see this 'song' being anywhere near a Charlie Rich or Ray Charles album ….. they gained hits because they had talent ….. today you get a hit if you use profane language ….. shout the f or c word pref both out as loud as you can and as often as possible and you get a hit !! … this is vile rubbish and is connected to a Notorious former Mixed Martial Artist/Boxer turned far right agitator ….. McGregor clearly wants to awaken the low life here like Trump did in America ….. and this 'song' is part of it …..

Mod: OP, I've moved your thread from Current Affairs/IMHO to a more suitable forum, the local charter now applies.

    I listened to it OP.

What I can't stand the most is lads rapping with Dublin accents*.

For me it's always been like fingernails on a blackboard.

It should be cancelled for cultural appropriation.

*Inner city, skanger Dublin accents, not south side or suburban posh ones, even though rapping in those accents would be equally terrible.

Not defending this act or song as I'd never heard of either of them until the whole Freemason's Hall thing this week, but presuming they're actually from a rough part of Dublin, is rapping in their own accent not, like, the complete opposite of cultural appropriation??? It's not like he's using a Blaccent.

As to the OP, I think it's probably safe to say that this music isn't necessarily aimed at your demographic. There's a bit of a whack of Helen Lovejoy off your post.

    I should rephrase my post.

I can't stand white people rapping.

Im not into rap music but from my exposure to it I think rapping is best done in its original form, by African Americans.

British Afro Caribbeans are also probably suited to it but I'm not as familiar with rapping from the UK as I would be rapping from the US.

Eminem is probably the only white rapper who has come close to equalling African Americans in quality.

I don't think they are supposed to be taken seriously. I hadn't heard of Eskimo Supremes newer stuff (until now, thanks) but Versatiles songs are hilarious.

Ketamine would be one that no matter how many times I've heard the song & seen the video, I pmsl every time. Total inappropriate but very cleverly put together.

    Maybe it's a Dublin thing..

Can you break that down sloooowly please
