Just a question…
Fox has had a field day with my lambs this year. I'm considering making some sort of night time refuge for next year. The thought struck me, is there anything wrong or illegal with hooking a sheep net fence to an energiser? I have plastic posts and I could keep it away from grass.

Nothing illegal about that - connect it up and hopefully it keeps the fox out.
Have you tried shoe polish or Stockholm tar on the lambs necks and behinds?

Great, I'll have a look at a place today see if I can figure something out.
I wouldn't put anything on a lambs behind, it'll cause mismothering.
I've put Stockholm tar successfully on necks of every lamb born for maybe the last 15+ years here successfully - until this fox!

why not use electrified netting, we use it all the time here.

I'll make a permanent division that I can use as a paddock any other day of the year. I don't have flat land so using temporary gear is a nightmare.
