Yes an no. Probably a great tool just it seems very over priced.

Its far to simialr to something like this https://www.amazon.ie/BU-KO-Petrol-Strimmer-Garden-Including/dp/B07BN4P2LT/ which is half the price.

Now the cheap chinese multi tools aren't without their issues but I'd want a cast iron guarantee that you aren't going to get them with the Stiga at twice the price.

Edit> Also depends on the size of garden and type of use. At 26cc the Stiga would be fine for a normal garden but if you are doing a lot of tough work I'd up the CC.

All those chinese ones are essentially all the same provided you are comparing ones with similar engine sizes. 52CC is the biggest one commonly available and its what I have. I use a bramble blade on mine and it copes well and will even smash up blackthorn.

If you intend to do more than say 1hrs use at a time I suggest a harness that goes over both shoulders and the cow horn handlebars are more comfortable. For mainly hedge cutter and pole chainsaw work the loop handles are more convenient. For a quick job edging off after mowing the loop handle is again more convenient.

I like D handle about 1 hour use at a time twice a week .it all about the parts you can get after for cheaper bands.any

Some parts would be hard to get but most would be generic. Strimmer head replace with an Oregon one when the original wears out. Carb totally generic - had to change mine. Its the bits of plastic you won't replace easily but the switch and throttle are another generic part you can get easily.

No. I have had one of those cheap chinese strimmer's for the last 5 years and a Husqvarna 240R (26 years old) that I now use just for strimming (the bevel box is a weakness and not up to brush cutting).

As I said the cheap ones can have issues but they are fine for the money.

I've also had Echo, Stihl and other no name strimmer's. Even if I had the money I'm not sure I'd spend it on a brand name. You are spending two to four times the money for not that much extra except the name.

What cheap brand would you recommend that parts can be got for

Oleo Mac have decent build quality and parts can be obtained easily enough.

I have one and they are around 1/3 of the price of Stihl.
