Just about to apply for planning for addition to house and retention of a garage extension completed since I purchased it.
Son of next door neighbour has put me on notice that he will object to the garage piece, my wife is concerned that this would result in the entire being rejected.
My understand ing is that if the house piece is within planning it can be granted even if garage retention is denied?

Yes you can apply for both in the same application. The council can grant both, refuse both of grant one and refuse the other.
