Weirdest food you’ve tried:

In Belarus many years ago, I was treated to pickled cow's tongue in aspic jelly (topped with a sliced of hardboiled egg) for breakfast. Not great after a feed of vodka the night before.

I've also enjoyed Kalbskopf (calf's head) and Schweinerüssel (pig's snout) in Switzerland.

I had a go at crickets that a friend brought back from holidays in Mexico.

To be honest, given the chance, I will literally eat anything (at least once) apart from marrowfat peas.

Frogs legs. Friend of mine ordered them to see what they're like and a few of us ate them.

Slimey chickeny feel off the meat. Little bones are a bit off putting when you bite inti them!

I had frogs legs in Johnny Fox's a few years ago, I really liked them.

I had snails in garlic butter in Morrocco and really liked them. Would have them again.

The only live things Ive eaten were oysters which I absolutely adore.

Steak Tartare aka tatarek is common on Czech menus, is basically just raw beef mince. Had that a few times. It's ok. Pro tip: Don't eat when hungover!

In Turkey I had soup made from sheep lungs which was delicious!

And I'm a big fan of haggis.

A friend of mine for his 40th went to a "pig cook out", where they take a pig and a large group of people and try to eat as much of it as possible. Now, stuff like pork belly, ribs, flank, and shoulder I would be all over, but on the second day, himself a bit hungover, they served up fried pig brain and scrambled eggs for a hangover cure. Personally, that would be a no no for me.

Never had crickets or scorpion, but would like to try them.

I've had dog served on the bone (China) and dog soup (North Korea). The meat in the soup wasnt great but in China the meat tasted good.

In fairness, Steak Tartare is more than beef mince. It is usually finely chopped fillet with capers, shallots, pickles, parsley, salt and a smidge of cayenne mixed in. Very tasty when done right.

Agree on the haggis - great stuff!

I ate horse regularly when I lived in Switzerland too. Not bad.

Coming from generations of cattle farmers and butchers, as a kid we regularly had liver, kidneys, oxtail, heart, tongue, sweetbreads and the like. I was set up at a early age to eat practically anything.

Scorpions in China. They were only small. Deep-fried and crunchy

My local Superquinn was greasy and pungent too. I only went there once and didn't return.
