Tesco mobile SIM not working in dongle

    I am scratching my head here. Bought a cheapie 4g LTE Wifi Modem dongle on Amazon. Bought a new Tesco SIM card with Prepay Data Plus (100 GB / 15 euro). Had to put the SIM in my phone for initial registration to get a code via SMS. All went great. SIM working in phone, data working fine.

    Moved the SIM to the dongle, I can log onto the dongle over WiFi, see the SIM is recognised there, but no cellular network signal and no internet. I tried setting APN settings but no joy.

    To rule out dongle problems, I took my phone's GoMo SIM and put it in the dongle. Instantly online, getting a signal from the GoMo network, no need to set APN settings, and let it choose default network.

    Basically — GoMo and Tesco SIMs working in phone and getting mobile data. GoMo SIM working in dongle with default settings. Tesco SIM not working in dongle, even with APN settings. Note: SIM PIN disabled on both SIMs as dongle requires this.

    What APN settings are you using? There is a chance that Tesco can see the IMEI of the router and won't process data.
