With Ioane on the books it would be an iq 10 we would need to sign. Byrne or Frawley would be excellent but they will get loads of gametime with Prendergast away on irish duty. Burns looks like he is on the way out of Munster but he is not the level needed. Healy has re-signed with Edinburgh. Sheedy would be a great addition if it is possible. Hopefully Seib can attract a fullback from one of the Australian teams.

It is a lot to put on Naughton so early… I would hang on to Jack for a few months to see (if that was possible)… New Coach might find Jack more suitable (he is still relatively young to retire)….

Henry MCERLEAN is a possiblity from the Leinster Academy… With game time could be a possibility…

Callum SHEEDY would solve a lot of issues and he is technically Irish qualified as well.

Daniel BRENNAN (Loose Head Prop) could be useful as Buckley is feeling the age.

Joey Carberry seems to be keeping himself fit BTW

Jack Carty should be thanked for his service to Connacht and wished well in his retirement. We have to move on. Leinster aren't going to give Frawley any minutes therefore if he has any ambition at 10 he has to move to us or to Ulster. If we don't get Frawley then let's look at someone like Sheedy.

I think we can forget about Daniel Brennan, hes played nearly every game for tulon this year and he would have a big list of willing clubs with way bigger budgets than us eager to sign him. How about checking if Dian Blueler liked being in Ireland and would fancy a move?

Atzol King and Alex Soroka looked good against us earlier in the year and seem under used by Leinster.

We have Lasisi at LH, we should develop him. Has been a powerful carrier.

Otherwise, we've watched Connacht being outmuscled up front, can that be mitigated through better coaching or tactics, or do we just have to recruit? If the latter, I agree with Facecuttr that we should be looking for a hooker, DTM hasn't especially impressed me over the last two years, and a monster second row.

But priority has to be a reliable kicker. I don't think JJ's departure is a tragedy, but it reduces our options further. What a mess.

I was unhappy to hear that Bundee got another year. Devine is a good centre but Bundee ignores everything that Devine does. Its why we ship massive points on a regular basis

    Our centres don't even communicate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 472 ✭✭ShineyShiney

We will always be out muscled up front because we can't afford a guy who is big enough to make a difference.

We won't dominate other teams physically because we don't have the spending power. There are plenty of good wingers/ centres /9's but very few physical monsters in rugby.

    We are Japan

I'd imagine the reason Bundee ignores Divine, John not Matthew, is because they've never played a game together

Could concede 60+ here today. 26 points conceded in 26 minutes.

Could also score 40 while we are at it.

Carty nearly hit the corner flag with that last one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,552 ✭✭✭testtech05

I know it isn't gonna change before next season but our defense is so so bad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭MarinersBlues

Carty and Jennings have been completely underutilised this season.

PParticularly galling given they are local lads who came through the Connacht system.

If logic works the way I think it does, we should win this game now that we got a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,513 ✭✭✭niallm77

    That's a harsh yc imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭MarinersBlues

    Penalty Try surely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,774 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Connacht so close with that conversion, hits the inside of the left post but fails to go over. So close. 31-29.

This game is there for them if they can push on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭MarinersBlues

It's the hope that kills you.

    Strange scrum penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,774 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That's a sickener, so close for Connacht. Poor handling when it looked like a certain try. Before that they were close to touching down on the post.

Brilliant! Connacht have the try to tie the game. And they can win it if they get the conversion.

But the ref is asking the TMO to have a look at something.

####! The try has been disallowed. And that's it. It's all over.
