Hilux with rust has anyone had the full chassis replaced?

Have a 131 Hilux, never given me an ounce of trouble but chassis was not great with rust, had her welded last year and in good enough shape now but was wondering if anyone has had a full new chassis replacement and how it went, where they got it done, cost etc?

She has 150,000miles on the clock and she doesn't get any abuse, only used for towing about once a month, I don't want nor need to get rid of her and the prices of a newer jeep are through the roof, plus I could end up with the same problem, so I was thinking about getting a new chassis so she could do me a few more years. Is it doable?

Yes it's possible, a neighbour got one done. Will have to enquire

My uncle did it with a dmax, wasn't as big a job as I thought it would be to be honest.

If I bought a chassis, I'd definitely get it Galvanised,

I was offered only 14000 for my 12 hilux and apart from the chassis it's in great condition so won't be changing it

Yeah I'd be looking at doing that myself as well, when I bought her as a five year old I paid €15,500 for her in mint condition, no way I'd get a five year old for that today, that's why I want to keep her, she's cost me nothing mechanically so far, only the welding last year for the test

The local mechanic did it but he is good and very well equipped for the job.

What about the chassis number stamp? would engineer have to certify change and where would you get one that wouldn't be as bad as your own?

I honestly wouldn't have a clue but its good to know so I can ask, thanks, and that's why I'm asking here, I've heard of some crowd in Monaghan or thereabouts who put brand new chassis into jeeps but can't actually find them. Might be an urban myth 😏

It's possibly to get a brand new chassis, which would have a new chassis number, most for sale are second hand. It's a strange one to answer because the chassis dictates the registration in this country. So technically you could re-register it as a 2025 hylux 😂

Is there any issues reregistering if you put in a secondhand galvanized chassis? We have a 05 landcruiser with same issue. Mechanic advised getting a new chassis galvanised and put in would be the job. But how to find a good one would be my problem
