America is a full blown zoo now, always was been but now the crazy animals who were typically locked away where spectators could not view them have been let loose and taken control of the place.

Only difference is between a zoo and america is in a normal zoo when monkeys throw sh*t at each other passer by's are not hit. With america everyone gets covered.

SCOTUS has penned in May 15 next for a hearing of arguments on Trump's plan to divest US citizens of their Birth-right Citizenship by way of Executive Order. The right is enshrined in the 14th Amendment.

In a brief order on Thursday, the justices declined to lift a temporary pause, which three lower court judges ruled on, that prevents Trump’s executive order from taking effect nationwide.

The Trump administration has asserted that children of noncitizens are not “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States, a phrase used in the amendment, and therefore are not entitled to citizenship. They are relying on their interpretation of the written wording - as it to mean "not subject to the jurisdiction of US law, including by the US courts" - because of their parentage, instead of the actual written wording contained in the amendment.

If SCOTUS were to issue a definitive opinion in favour of the amendment wording, allowing it to stand unchanged by interpretation by Trump's EO, thus scrubbing Trump's EO, things might get exciting in the White House.

Trump's representatives don't have any problem in appealing to the highest court in the land to knock out the lower courts rulings though.

Absolutely. In fact China's recent aggressive confrontational diplomacy was very Trumpian. But I think the Chinese are realising that their 'wolf warrior' diplomacy was counterproductive at the same time that Trump's USA is embarking on it's own version. It seems the Chinese are learning something at the same time that the US is being inflicted with amnesia.

For the Trump voters who have now contributed to his low approval ratings, f*ck them! They are disapproving of the exact things Trump said he'd do if elected. He said them time and time again. Some of them even got tickets to hear him saying them in person. Harris and other democrats warned about them time and time again. His own damn Republican VP didn't endorse him. But these voters were too deluded to apply any level of critical thinking to Trump's claims.

If loads of people tell you to avoid a restaurant because of food poisoning, but you ignore them and eat there anyway and get sick, you can't then leave a review for the restaurant saying "I never expected to get food poisoning but I did"

    Absolute f*cking dopes!

Isn't it about this time 'someone' comes along and places the blame for Trump & Co's antics solely at the Democrats……

Ye will never look at them orange fcuks of yeoks again.

So the man that the government mistakenly sent to an El Salvador prison is alive and has met with Maryland senator Chris Van Hollen

Huge respect to Van Hollen for doing this - hopefully this news can give hope to his family and be the first step in getting him back in the country.

But of course the administration are already doubling down. Bondi released some “new” information on Garcia claiming he’s a criminal gang member, even though the words HAS NO CRIMINAL HISTORY were included in her information. Unsurprisingly, this part has already been edited out.

These people are as close to evil as you can get. If they succeed with keeping García out then there’ll be hundreds if not thousands more who will end up with the same fate.

This led me down the rabbit hole that he only has IVF babies because of a botched penis implant. And it reads as pretty likely based on this piece on it...

There already are hundreds more who were on the same plane as him who are already being forgotten about.

The media can only focus one one individual meanwhile hundreds of others are languishing in those same cells

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

Sam Harris has really been hitting the nail on the head recently about the pop culture players who have gleefully helped spread disinformation that has in turn facilitated Trump's comeback.

The various mega-podcasters who had Trump on the show like Joe Rogan, Lex Friedman and Theo Von - they all completely failed to hold Trump's feet to the fire on anything, even on highly contentious points. As Harris says, if you went on the Rogan podcast and started giving half-cocked opinions on MMA, littered with factual inaccuracies, Rogan would be on you like a rash, yet he would give Trump plenty of latitude to spread his nonsense even on points widely acknowledged to be shaky at best.

There is no downside for your Joe Rogans and your Dave Smiths - if they get something right then they are bringing you the facts that the mainstream media won't. If they get something wrong, they'll say they're just some knuckle heads hangin' out, smokin' a J and talkin' some shít. This is what you would call the 'non-expert defence' that allows them to popularise as much disinformation as they want with few, if any, hard penalties.

It also folds into the problem of the info-tainer. The info-tainer needs a steady supply of edgy takes to keep people engaged, and each one needs to be edgier than the last, giving us a race to the bottom, and there are plenty of bad actors ready to put out bad information that these edgy takes can be built off of.

So now Trump is going to put a fee on Chinese owned or made ships landing at US ports. To be rolled out in 180 days, so likely just one of his scare, attempted strong arm tactics. Or maybe he thinks the US can build a fleet of cargo ships in 180 days 😁

My kids are adults now, but I'd be willing to put money on it that when they were pre-teens they could come up with better plans and strategies than the complete morons in the WH now.

China should ban all exports to US for few weeks. That will show who will kiss who's ass. Those trillion dollar companies didn't become rich with American's sweat .

Everyone should ban all exports - sell off Debt too. That will put manners on the feckers alright. World bullies america into behaving.

It’s been very clear from day 1 that Trump doesn’t want peace in ukraine- for whatever reason he wants to hand it to Russia - he’s made unrealistic demands of Ukraine and they unexpectedly after trying to negotiate different terms, said yes- so he couldn’t end up blaming them for not accepting his terms - but still there’s no peace- and Trump has remained silent on Russia- just what the fck is going on?

The whole thing is a joke , a political drama, noone can even put a dent in globalisation at this stage. The supply chains now and interdependence is complete. And it's a wonderful thing that prevents large scale conflict and keeps prices down. The only problem here is people's perception of their quality of life. Without the experience of labouring in a coal mine to die at 40 from coal dust inhalation related illness, you will never know how good you have it now

The fact that one man can cause so much worldwide economic turmoil is crazy. If anything good comes from this sh*tshow it will be the rest of the world reducing its economic dependence on America and thus limiting the damage that a president can do.

Just got confirmed that it is widely known that only MS13 gang members have this type of haircut. Praying for a quick deportation so America’s dogs are no longer at risk of being eaten.

The question isn't how good people have it with respect to the past. The question is how good should people have it with respect to total resources available in the present day?

After WW2 ended, there was a great boom of economic prosperity in the United States and optimism for the future was sky high. The view of the decades to come were summed up in popular TV shows like Star Trek and the Jetsons, where humanity ventured out into the stars and the problems of the modern age were mostly overcome.

But that hasn't quite happened. The size of the crumbs falling off the cake have got proportionally bigger, but it's not an invalid question to ask whether those with the knives and forks need to get so fat, i.e. if the system that enables that setup is a particularly fare/equitable one.

The WTO forecast of 2.7% growth in global trade has been revised to a fall of 0.2% and …

UN trade and development body, UNCTAD, released its own report which forecasts global growth to slow to 2.3% in 2025 due to escalating trade tensions and uncertainty.

It said the projection was below "the 2.5% threshold widely viewed as signalling a global recession".

There's a lot of "I'm all right Jack" about the voters and the administration. Mé Féinners at best.

America's influence for the last century was predicated on its vast wealth and business ethic obviously but also on 'responsible adults' being in charge. Nobody ever foresaw the emergence of a reality TV show buffoon and failed businessman with strong authoritarian instincts taking the reins of power and surrounding himself with fellow idiots and sycophants. One wonders if the US can ever recover from this or if its global influence is already gone for good.

I don't know diddly squat about this Mr. García and he may well be someone that I wouldn't want to spend too much time with, but it's HIGHLY disturbing that this administration will not rectify this appalling situation. A situation that was a "mistake". Instead they choose to double down and try desperately to pin something, anything, on the guy despite the fact that he has "no criminal history" according to the administration's own files. And all merely to justify their own fu*k up.

Trump and his crowd have to be one of the most malign groupings of sick individuals I've yet seen in control of a major western nation. They are utterly reckless, beholden to an extreme venality, allied with some very malicious cronies around the world and they have an inbuilt terror of admitting their own shortcomings & changing them.

And that makes them truly dangerous to everybody, not only in their own nation, but outside of it as well.

I like Sam Harris but it is a bit ironic that he is repeating the line of Douglas Murray on a recent Joe rogan podcast where Douglas made this same point with zero self-awareness thst he was also not a expert on what he was talking about. There are too many speakers like Sam Harris and Jordan Peterson on the other side that speak on topics they are not experts in. Their main skill is talking confidently in public.

There are too many of these Youtubers and internet talking heads yapping about important things that they have little understanding of full stop. Unfortunately, the naive think that they are hearing experts discussing topical issues and they come away with a head full of nonsense, thinking that they've got some inside scoop, when all these internet bozos are interested in is their attention, no matter what's being said and how much conviction it's being said with.
