They are definitely determined to stumble over the line for this league title.

Slightly concerning that the more time Slot has with these players, the worse the performances appear to get.

I know everyone is saying that teams like City and Arsenal will be more improved next season but you would have to imagine that Liverpool will be as well.

hopefully the lackadaisical elements with be removed and a bit more guile in those idle periods of the game.

Think part of it is just tiredness too… we utterly collapsed last season under Klopp about a month earlier than this year's drop off.

The same group of players fell off a cliff this time last season too. I don't know what it is

When were down to a single game a week, does tiredness really explain it?

Id be concerned that tiredness has been ruled out but he still won't freshen things a bit.

if slot doesn’t start using more of his squad then it will continue to be like this. There should be some new signings in the summer so that will hopefully fix things

Im so sick of this lackidasical play the last 4-5 weeks or so.

I get that quite a few players are exhausted but thats on Slot and he still persists with Grav every game and 90 mins in most games.

He clearly doesnt trust some of his squad so i fully expect big changes over the summer FSG permitting ofcourse.

Robbo is a disaster for many a game now and kostas as replacement is no better, Jones is simply not good enough to be a consistent midfield option, he was better at RB :)

Its weird, we are going to win the PL but here i am complaining :)

Did VAR look at the shove before the header? I honestly don't know what's supposed to be allowed or let go Vs a blatant free kick anymore when it's a set piece going in to the box

Thank **** we play Leicester, Spurs and Chelsea for our next 3.

Given Klopp had the exact same issue with this squad, is it safe to assume it's lack of squad depth which is killing us.

Time on the training ground means very little currently. You can just tell from body language, and most of Virgils interviews that this is a mental slog, and they're just trying to drag themselves over the line.

None of those guys are comfortable in their own skin at the minute. It's a very weird situation, when your going toe to toe in a title battle you just simple grind out results as you need to. But it's nearly worse when everyone is waiting for you to get it done. Everyone wants you to put on a swashbuckling display and show your champions colours week in week out, but the reality is very different!

But Endo and Elliott are right there?

    Chiesa as well

Another poor performance especially 2nd half. But at this stage the win is what matters.

This is it really, Liverpool fans may get the goal fest once the job is done, but until then, it's all about the grind. Noting is going to be pretty for you guys in the coming weeks.

It's the press from the front three which is the issue. The midfielders are coming to help but have to much ground to make up so they are leaving a space behind. The defensive line probably needs to step up to counter it or the initial press needs to start a little deeper.

I think there's different kinds of tiredness though… think there's a mental exhaustion that comes from most of the same players resetting themselves to go again over and over and over again. Especially without the immediate fire of a chase or something too.

Nice that our captain mentioned the upcoming Hillsborough disaster anniversary and you’d always hope any future captains would do the same when interviewed at this time. Fair play to him.

as for the game mad stuff. An inch lower and it’s 2-2 at the end.

We haven’t played well today. And if we’re honest we haven’t played well for 6 weeks but we’re going to win the league.

Football is strange, we’ve had seasons where we played stuff (under klopp) that deserved titles and trophies and flippin books written about the sort of football we played.

We aren’t that pretty on the eye any more but this one will stick, this one gets a proper Anfield celebration, this one gets the open top bus, this one gets the explosion of all the frustration, this one will probably mean more to us all than the last one, this one we get to celebrate properly.

But this one was made by the last one. And managed by the new.

At the very least we owe him a quick danke schon. Id say hes proud.

It's not a midfield issue with Liverpool. Your forward press is weak, and too easily bypassed. Also teams now pile forward when they do bypass it, because they know Liverpool don't have lightning pace up front to punish them if they get turned over.

Very difficult to manage the middle when you're getting overloaded everytime.

He'll be in the stadium for the final game and his song will ring out, no doubt about it. And there'll be no disrespect in it, Slot's will be booming out straight after

Yes we are more conservative than before but....

I would rather win the league like this than lose it by one point playing exciting football.

We are playing after Arsenal most weeks and doing our business. We are learning how to get over the line.

And people need to stop complaining about Diaz. Great player.

Leicester and Ipswich as good as relegated ,

WH play Southampton on Saturday before we play Leicester on Sunday , if WH even got a point Leicester would be relegated , which is likely

    Salah 18-1 for a hat trick , Jota 40-1, Diaz 50-1 , Gakpo 50-1, Nunez 40-1

You'd like to think we could tear Leicester apart and hit a huge score

I may have missed it but it did not seem to me that West Ham deserved a draw. Sure they were not played off the park but I think they were helped when we dropped our intensity in the 2nd half. They only started trying to score when there was only half of the 2nd half left and they did get good chances then, but you suspect had they tried that earlier we would have played through them and made more chances.

Not being played off the park is not the same as deserving a draw. We hit he post twice as well and it is our style to take some of the intensity out of the game as this has allowed us to be 13 points clear at this stage.

I would just like to add, I am not blind and our level has dropped, but we went through a spell there where we played United (h - always a tough match), Forest (a), Brentford (a), Ipswich (h), Bournemouth (a), Everton (a - last derby at Goodison), Wolves (h), Villa (a), City (a), Newcastle (h), Southampton (h), Everton (h), Fulham (a) and now West Ham.

Out of those matches I would say only Ipswich, Southampton, Wolves and now West Ham would be classed as easy matches. The rest of them were difficult in their own way and in that space we have been 5 points better off than other teams since matchday 20. I don't care that we have not been as good, we were good enough during that stretch to allow us to grind it out now.

Teams have gone down with 49pts and 42 pts. United lucky there are really poor sides below them. Funny season, both top middle and bottom of table.

I thought we were very good in the first half. Salah destroyed the young full back, but his end product wasnt quite there, apart from the goal. Great resilience by the lads to get the win after conceding such a late equaliser.

I was disappointed to see Robbo come on. Tsimikas is no better than fine/average, but that’s still better than Robbo

Can you name them, with out Ogling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭Appletart Upsetter

Everton, Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,807 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

We have the same points total (76) as United (38) and Everton (38) combined 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,930 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Too easy

Only two clubs have remained undefeated in a PL season away from home
