8 changes from the Brighton game. Emery going all out for PSG.

Still a decent side though and look strong so far but Forest are happy to let their opponents have the ball as usual

So nice to have something many threats going forward.

Last season owed a huge, huge amount to Ollie having a dream season, staying fit and banging in goals.

This season it's will it be Ollie, maybe Rashford, Asensio? A wild Malen has entered the thread, Ramsey...maybe Rogers

Can't really have any compalints with that first half.

8 changes and we are 2 up on the team in third place.

It is hard to believe that we are actually in a position where even after all those changes we could still potentially be in a position to make subs to rest even more players before our CL game mid-week. You could see Rashford on for Rodgers for example, or Kamara/Ramsey/McGinn allowing Tielemans to not have to play the full 90

Forest get one back… It hasn't suited us the way the game has changed and us no longer having the possesion / forward impetus of the first half but the lads need to stem the flow now.

    looking pourus now.

Would like to see Kamara on

We can't hold on to the ball at all anymore. Defensively we keep backing off them. We're gonna lose this if we don't get it together. Kamara coming on

Great result. Obviously the first half was far better but Emery made the subs at the right time and now we can be very optimistic looking forward to the mid-week and PSG.

Just beat Forest and have won the last several games we have played in all comps. We have momentum… now let's hope PSG are out celebrating and underestimate us (as they were just crowned French champs I believe).

    Fantastic result for us yesterday.

I've the next three games lined up after the PSG away game. Can't wait.

We have some very difficult fixtures in the league still like City & Newcastle both of whom are going for the remaining CL spots but seeing Chelsea draw with Brentford just now does give me some optimism as they are the side I could see drop out of their current top 5 position. Their next game is very winnable (Ipswich) but they will have European games until the end of the season most likely and their run in is as hard as anyone (Fulham who just beat Liverpool, Everton who just held Arsenal, then Liverpool, Newcastle, Man Utd & Forest on the last day) while their form is questionable.

Unless we beat City or Newcastle it could be hard to see us keeping one of them out of the top 5 especially when you work in all the extra cup games we will have (At least 3 more) and Newcastle having games in hand but to be honest a chance at the FA cup, a run deep into the CL and Europa qualification is something I think most would have happily taken at the start of the season.

City and Chelsea both dropping points is positive for us. Looking at Forest, and suddenly they could be looking over their shoulder. Everton up next who have found a little bit of form. If they were to lose that, and we beat Southampton, then the gap is down to three points.

Very good weekend for sure. Those 2 games in 4 days against Newcastle and City are ultimately gonna shape the league season. 4 points there and you can’t help but believe.

whilst we are an outsider for top 5, we are getting results at the important time, don’t fear Newcastle or city whatsoever.

what an exciting end to the season, love it

Hopefully Arsenal can finish the job next week against Madrid next week no doubt Madrid would be the more glamorous tie should we progress and I wanted them to get through until a Blues fan I spoke to on Saturday said he’d love Bellingham to knock us out with a last minute goal.

Anyhow can’t get too far ahead of ourselves got to take care of PSG first.

I wouldn't let a blues fan put you off like that. The closest they'll ever get to a Champions League is a former player.

I know but just couldn’t take the risk don’t forget they retired Bellingham’s shirt for far less

Exactly, that's their mentality. It would be like not opening the window on a hot day in case a fly gets in.

Any Galwegians in the group that would recommend a good pub in the city to watch the match tonight? Not sure if there is still a designated pub for Villa supporters?

Looking at the Connacht Lions Facebook page, it looks like they go to Taaffes (as of 2023 anyway)

I don't know why, in a season of surreal moments - but it's that fact the Villa are on RTE 2 at 8pm has caught me.

Even in the earlier matches we were always 5.45 on Virgin media 2 or the likes - 8pm on RTE was reserved for Liverpool or Utd - but here we are!! The ultimate sign of being big time….. RTE2 !!!!!!!!

This time six years ago the team probably would have been eating dinner in a hotel near Rotherham the night before playing them.

Rashford starts, Asensio on the bench and Pau back in.
