Seriously? Think about what you are trying to defend. How warped is your mind that you cannot comprehend/accept yet another war crime? The IDF don't even pretend to obey humanitarian law, where have you been?

    Honestly the level....

By the way, the guy that took the video was also killed.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Why did the regime and the IDF lie about this afterwards then and claim that the paramedics were members of Hamas? The only reason they have been found out is that they didn't realise the entire incident had been caught on video and and this video would be published in the West soon afterwards.

The BBC reporting that since the video appeared and a survivor the Israelis have changed their tune. Sarr now saying that the army made a mistake but that 6 of the dead were Hamas. What a shower of b*******. They don't know the meaning of truth.

It’s truely horrible watching the news every night as Israel slaughter all round them ….Israel must be the most evil nation that ever existed

The IDF said, in a briefing, that the ambulances arrived in the neighbourhood shortly after a Hamas police vehicle went through, that the soldiers were surprised by the convoy stopping on the road and several people getting out quickly and running and that the soldiers were unaware that the suspects were unarmed medics.

So it's possible that they thought the ambulances were Hamas police vehicles.

The IDF said that it's an approved and regular practice to bury bodies to prevent wild dogs and other animals from eating the corpses.

As for the allegation that 6 of the medics had links to Hamas, being a health professional doesn't guarantee innocence. For example, Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah is banned from entering the Schengen Zone.

The IDF 'have now said'. That wasn't the tune they were singing the first time round. Now we have a magic Hamas vehicle, which-funnily enough-wasn't referred to in there original pre-video at all.

and that the soldiers were unaware that the suspects were unarmed medics.

They shot some of them at point blank range. Some of them had their hands bound. They knew exactly what they were doing.

Your wilful gullibility knows no bounds. Some day you will regret these silly posts. It's possible. Did you watch the video? The ambulance lights in total Gaza darkness could be seen for miles. You really have zero care for Palestinians.

I understand that Israel stated that a Hamas member was killed in the event - they named him.

When the names of the 15 dead were released, the stated Hamas member was not amongst them.

    Curious.

Did they bury the ambulances as well because they were worried dogs would eat them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,335 ✭✭✭✭Cluedo Monopoly

The IDF weren't too concerned about wild dogs when they killed nearly 50,000 people in the last 18 months.

    From RTE

OCHA said that the first team was targeted by Israeli forces at dawn on that day. In the hours that followed, additional rescue and aid teams searching for their colleagues were also struck in a series of attacks.

And why did the IDF not allow anyone near the mass grave for a week? And why bury the vehicles? Afraid they were going to be hijacked by joyriders?

But this modus operandi reminds of the time in the early days when the IDF bombed a hospital. No-one was allowed in for many days. Unexploded ordinance something something live operations something something.

When allowed to enter, humanitarian workers made their way to the maternity unit. There, they discovered the bodies of a number of neonates, still in their incubators. They had started to decompose.

I posted earlier that when as much of the truth that can be gathered is finally put in front of the world, it will be sickening. What we see and hear on the newswires is not even half the story. We are sickened already - but worse will come. We know Israel suppresses that as much as possible by banning the International Press from Gaza. Now we know why. But the truth will out.

You may recall the IDF soldiers posting videos on the social media accounts. Looting Palestinian homes, rifling through knicker drawers, glorifying over demolishing religious sites, cheering on sniping kids. Israel warned all IDF soldiers on their hollybops abroad to delete their social media accounts to avoid being arrested for War Crimes. Didn't warn them about justice being served for the actual crimes they filmed - they just warned them not to get caught.

I'm not sure if you have been following events as closely as many who post regularly here. Possibly not. But you can be assured that the IDF has a lot of form in wanton murder and brutalisation of Palestinians and then lying. And they have been caught doing it multiple times. Its endemic.

As regards your last sentence, are you saying that "having links to Hamas" is a free pass to bind someone's hands and feet, shoot them in the head and then bury them in a shallow grave? It isn't. Its a War Crime.

I wait for the day when Netanyahu and Gallant are in front of the Hague answering for their War Crimes. If found guilty, I hope the sentence is severe.

And when Israel is before the ICJ, if the finding of the court is that they committed Genocide, they will hang their heads in shame, as will all those who are complicit, those who tacitly supported it, denied it or justified it.

Sorry but that's nonsense from you and them again. You forgot that they had already spun all their lies before realising that they were rumbled. Anything they say after that is not to be believed either.

Every time the zionists escalate, the world mostly does absolutely nothing to stop it.

Even the pro-genocide harris/martin government are trying to walk away from their obligations to international law.

I would not be one bit surprised if the IDF state that they were concerned that terrorists would salvage the vehicles and repurpose them as Main Battle Tanks or machine them into rockets or invade Israel en masse with them or some such fantasy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,264 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

It suggests the 'IDF' are out of control and without any discipline. They may as well be the Red Army in early 1945 or the Nazis after they invaded Russia.

I know your post has taken somewhat of a hammering but there's another piece here that troubles me.

Now, I've not read the detailed IDF statement but I trust your summary of it is correct. So…

The IDF can clearly see and identify a vehicle as a "Hamas Police Vehicle". Presumably, Hamas Police Vehicles are not in the habit of driving around with their lights on and flashing?

But when vehicles, clearly medical vehicles, with flashing lights and occupants wearing medics uniforms arrive, the IDF lights them up.

But here's what troubles me - why let the Hamas Police Vehicle go? It just drove past them, they saw it and then just let it go? With the resources Israel has, if that had been radioed in, an F16 would have turned that vehicle into a lump of carbon within minutes.

But then again, misidentification in war is a fact. Like the nuns that were sniped, that elderly bloke with the white flag - sniped, the girl shredded in the car by a Merkava Battle Tank, like the sheep that were sniped. And let's not forget the three Israeli hostages - stripped to the waist, waving white flags, shouting "surrender" in Hebrew - sniped by their own.

I'm buying none of these IDF lies. As Germany and the UK have said - these events must be investigated thoroughly and those involved brought to justice. Preferably before the ICC and not some IDF court where they'll probably just get a discharge if found guilty.

It was paywalled at the time but Haaretz published a detailed report of the IDF in the Netzarim corridor. The report was based on corroborated testimony from IDF soldiers who served there. That report clearly showed the IDF were out of control - the soldiers admitted it. They couldn't believe what was going on. The Senior commander ordered that anyone on a bicycle was a terrorist and was to be eliminated on sight.

I believe that when IDF soldiers leave active duty, some will tell their story and it will be horrific.

The Netzarim corridor report by Haaretz is unfortunately still paywalled. Its referenced in the link below which contains this quote:

"On 18 December 2024, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz published the testimonies of commanders and officers of the 252nd Division and the 99th Division about the Netzarim Corridor being a "kill zone" with arbitrary lines where every Palestinian is shot for being a suspected terrorist. One officer claimed that a report of 200 killed Hamas militants was wrong since "of those 200 casualties, only ten were confirmed as known Hamas operatives"

The full report is a chilling read if you can get your hands on it. I did post some of it at the end of last year so if you wish to scroll back, its probably still there.

It had to be done - caught red handed - but still spinning the truth all the same.

Independent investigation is an absolute must.

The IDF insists at least six of the medics were linked to Hamas - but has so far provided no evidence. It admits they were unarmed when the soldiers opened fire.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,492 ✭✭✭✭end of the road

no, it's not possible the IDF thought they were hamas police vehicles.
they knew exactly what they were and what they were firing at, hence they buried the vehicles including burying people alive, which they did to hide the evidence of their war crimes.
seriously, you aren't fooling anyone, stop digging.

your "theory" has no credibility, nobody is buying it.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Funny how nobody made the same arguments when Ukrainian civilians started pouring over the borders of Poland, Romania etc in 2022. Nobody said those countries would be justified in not taking Ukrainian refugees because that would help Russia occupy Ukrainian land. And that's ignoring the fact that Gaza started their war with Israel whereas Russia started the Russo-Ukraine war.

So either the surrounding West Asian countries are being given a pass, or Israel is being held responsible for a humanitarian situation it has little control over.

Shameful stuff from political analyst. Denying the reality of what Israel is doing is just a defence mechanism for cowards at this stage. They're too afraid to admit to themselves what they truly are and what they deep down support.

Israel is being held responsible for a humanitarian situation it has total control over.

There is only one credible actor in this Genocide - Israel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,895 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Israeli apologists who defend and support atrocities are getting put on ignore, if you cannot bring yourself to condemn Israel for the latest war crime then all hope is lost for you. You will spiral into the depths of contextualising, whataboutry, excusing, ignoring and then finally supporting war crimes.

This letter to a newspaper was published 11 years ago and illustrates the Israeli playbook very succinctly, nothing has changed other than 'they were Hamas'.

Any thoughts on the IDF massacring aid workers, trying to cover it up and lying about it?
