Presumably some of these football games are also on the BBC?

It feels like an oversight to not have any Joe McDonagh games covered. A game each round of the groups would seem like a nice bonus for hurling people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,922 ✭✭✭Uncle Pierre

I agree. They're to show at least one game from each round of the Tailteann Cup up to and including the quarter-finals, before the semi-finals and final will be on RTE.

But not a thing from the Joe McDonagh Cup, and RTE will only be showing the final.

Overall, ten matches from the Tailteann Cup to be shown one way or the other. Just one from the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Chances are you won't have a massive interest in any county other than your home county. Confirmed games so far are Tipperary v Limerick, Waterford v Limerick and Clare v Tipperary with one more, Most likely Cork/Limerick, confirmed as well. That means you're paying €80 for 3 hurling matches or €26/match…

What they should really do is offer a one-game package for something realistic like €5. I think that would help immensely with the criticism

All cork munster hurling games are scheduled to be shown FTA on RTE, so I expect the introduction of GAA+ to be quiet and uneventful.

In that case go for the 3 for 2 at €24 if you think you are only gonna watch 3 matches.

GAA just announced there will be a minutes silence for GAA GO before the finals this weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 831 ✭✭✭Krazy gang

If youre only interested in your own county you must not be much of a gaa fan in the first place! I don't know anyone into gaa who only watches just their own county.

There's leinster hurling as well as munster. Plus some decent ulster football matches and all Ireland quarter finals. I'll gladly pay the €79, great value. Good pundits too.

M.y problem with watching other counties isn't will it's time. I go to every Limerick hurling game so I miss any game on the same day and am possibly too busy on the day before or after because I spent one of my 2 weekend days at a match.

So I just wouldn't get enough use out of GAA+. I must check the fixture list and see does the 3 match deal work for me.

Saw that after posting it yeah, an interesting offer in fairness

Well like everybody I follow my own local club as well so 2 teams you could argue.

The press release says GAA members get a discount but when I log on to Foireann there is no mention of GAA+ or a discount anywhere and I haven't received an email

I work in tech and I can't make head, arse or tail of how to find this elusive discount so God love anyone that isn't tech savvy

"Hi folks, Your 10% off GAA+ codes should appear in your Foireann account within the next day or 2, but most certainly will be there before the games at the weekend. There will be communications going out to previous users today, and over the next few days."

Can anyone tell me how to cast GAA + from phone to my tv? Was going to get the 3 for 2 bundle.

I never had a problem casting youtube from phone to tv just press the casting icon and it works.

However the casting icon doesnt work on my GAA+.

I dont have a clue about chromecast or stuff like that.

If anyone could help me that would be great.

Theres a tv app for Samsung tellys, maybe some others, and if you have an android tv (also newer vodafone ip tv boxes and the likes) you can install it from the google play store.

With gaago you just entered the code from the TV app onto the gaago website (on your phone or laptop) and then your tv is registered with your account. It used to be stupid and ask for the code nearly every time you went to watch a game but in the past while it seems to have remembered the login

NOW…. thats Gaago but they seem to have inherited the old technology, at least that was how it was yesterday when I was looking and GAA+ was working on the gaago app with my gaago login.

From the GAA+ website, the part I have highlighted in bold and italics below might be relevant to your situation?

    https://help.gaaplus.ie/support/solutions/articles/77000578418-can-i-watch-gaa-on-a-tv-

Casting from our mobile app to your TV:

    1. Install the GAA+ app on your phone or iPad/tablet (we do not support casting from our website).

    2. Make sure your casting device (Chromecast / Airplay) is on the same WiFi network as your phone/tablet. You can cast content via Apple Airplay (iOS only) or Google Chromecast (from our Android and iOS apps).

If it's your first time using your casting device, you'll also need to set it up according to the manufacturer's instructions to connect it to your phone or tablet.

Note that we no longer support casting to other devices like Fire TV, Roku or smart TVs. For those devices, you will need to download the appropriate GAA+ on-tv app directly on the device.

    3. Once you have your casting device enabled on your mobile device and TV click on the item of content you wish to watch under the 'MATCHES' section and hit the casting icon in the top right corner of the screen.

*If the icon remains greyed out (see below) and tapping on it does not cause anything to happen, your casting device is not being picked up. Please ensure all devices are connected to the same internet source and that your casting device is set up correctly as per the manufacturer's instructions.

     4. After clicking on the casting icon you should be provided with a list to select your TV / casting device from.

    5. After a few seconds, content should display on your TV screen.

If you are having trouble casting on the mobile app, it may be possible to cast from our website to your tv. You should be able to mirror what’s on your device via the ‘Cast Screen/Audio’ in the Google Home app. Casting your Android screen allows you to mirror your Android device to the TV so you can enjoy your content exactly as you see it on your mobile device—only bigger. Please refer to the below link on how to ‘Cast Screen/Audio on your device https://support.google.com/chromecastbuiltin/answer/6059461?hl=en

It may also be possible to cast from your internet browser (as opposed to from our player which no longer supports casting). For more information on this see https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3228332?hl=en

    To stop casting:

    1. Click the casting icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen on your mobile device

    2. Click 'stop casting' on the pop-up that appears on the screen (as seen below)

one thing to note is that if you are using vpns or other trickery on your mobile device or telly, then casting might not work, so if you have troubles just turn those off.

I just use the not-so-technical method of streaming the match on my laptop instead, and connecting the laptop to the TV with a HDMI cable.

You could do the same from the phone if you buy a HDMI to USB adaptor. Can get them for about a tenner from Amazon.

Why is it so expensive? 12euro a game is nearly double what a league of Ireland game is ? League of Ireland TV shows every game each weekend so you have a choice but Gaa+ only shows a few games? Looks like a lot of the money is going to presenters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,072 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Because Gaelic games are double the product. It's why tickets cost more too.

LOI would charge the same if they could.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,832 ✭✭✭✭Red Silurian

To be very technical it's less than €2 a game on GAA+

Another example is URC TV which shows every URC game with English commentary. There was an offer at the start of the season to get it for €60 for 150 games, RTE/TG4 have about 60 of them but in fairness if Irish isn't your thing that's not a bad deal at 40c a game

LOITV is phenomenal value but don't almost all matches happen at the same time so you're restricted to one "live" game a week?

I had subscription on Google Play paid until May 12 but I guess I get ripped off for a month now , nature of the business.Anyone else in a similar situation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,832 ✭✭✭✭Red Silurian

You should get a pro-rata refund from google play or else your login for GAAGo should work on the new service

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 631 ✭✭✭vid36

Tried logging in but keep getting USER unknown message.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,460 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

But of a bollix that tbh. I wanted to sub for the weekend connacht games, the game tomorrow especially, but it'll effectively cost me 8 quid (I'll lose the discount) because the code isn't available.

Might just wait now or pay the 12, and see if or how the firestick app does with the gaa plus.

They make it harder to do the right thing....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,768 ✭✭✭decies

sign up again with other email your device will recognise the account then , I did it on iOS and android box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,425 ✭✭✭franglan

The foireann discount just doesn't work currently does it? I clicked on the green membership paid and ticket discount code - used that but it didn't allow it so just paid full wack. Amateur hour as always with Croker Park.

There was a separate code on Foireann for GAA+ but I agree it was a complete clownshow of a launch of GAA+
