thats some statement by you in fairness… Trump wants to end a war… he is very clear he wants it to stop… he is not interested in people being killed…. Varadkar Martin McDonald and that creep of creeps Harris have never said anything bout the war ending.. they also all pushed hard for the abortion referendum to be passed… Mcgregor is not a nice person but he is not a convicted rapist and i dont think Trump is a convicted rapist either… stick to the facts

my only worry with Trump is Putin definitely has a grip on him..

His "Peace deals" show he is not interested in stopping it one bit. As you said, Putin/Russia has a grip of him so he's not interested in stopping Russia continuing the killing

In relation to the rape/sexual assault convictions; they're both civil courts but it's not like this in anyway diminishes them as complete scum for their actions. If a daughter turned up at your door introducing them as not being convicted but having only civil court convictions, you'd still be running them out the gate.

but what i do like is he makes decisions

Just making decisions and ploughing ahead regardless is not a good thing. Like firing off a load of people to make it look like he was solving waste only to find out they were critical to the nuclear security and they had to attempt to rehire them three days later. Action for the sake of blame/appearance. He also wasn't long in actioning the purchase of $400 million worth of his mate Musks EV's even though they are complete dog shite.

He also just gives the impression of making decisions; he signed a flurry of executive orders making it look like things were being done; in actuality they're tied up in legal challenges and chunks of them not going through. But, it looks good and that's what matters to him and MAGA.

According to the mart manager who conducted the sale they were last year’s calves and there are no plans to sell anymore of his cattle.

No cameras on at least two if nor three roads out of there. Those roads would be very quiet in the evening/night.

Are you saying you would be happy to live in a dictatorship? Because that's what it reads like to me.

I’m not going to bog down the farming chitchat by getting into it all here but all I can say is you’ve a lot to learn yet.

Ya it's a bit of a shock alright. America was seen as the big boy in the school yard, protecting us from the bullies, ie Russia China ect.

Now it's after turning away, we might have to fight our own battles.

Money is where the ruling class in America feels it. They won't be long turning on Trump if there is a long term downturn in the markets

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,373 ✭✭✭✭patsy_mccabe

The stock market was overpriced to begin with. Buffett sold most of his shares a few months back.

What Trump is trying to do is restore the manufacturing base to the US. America has become a consumer country, living on debt while producing nothing. That doesn't last. A good video on it all here.

I guess it answers my question that there are still some people that can't see the clown that he is. The language out of him alone like. How could anyone take him seriously.

I was having a conversation with a mother on the school run about the lunatic just there, but there was another mother there listening in and saying nothing.

    🤣🤣

Trump doesn’t want to end the war. He wants to help his master Putin win before Russia runs out of tanks and men willing to sacrifice themselves.

If trump was so against war what about Palestine being obliterated by the us proxy state of Israel. The US is a warmonger always will be.

The abortion referendum result is a choice of the people. We saw in the Lisbon that no matter what the government say Irish people vote what they feel best. It’s a democratic decision, it’s done.

Trump amd McGregor are sexual predators and I believe rapists the pair. Split hairs of you want but they are both scum of the lowest order, seeing them so comfortable together speaks volumes.

It was always said Putin has the famous “golden shower” videos against the don, I’d wager he has worse, trump is such a deviant it could be anything.

A toddler also makes decisions, doesn't mean its a good idea.

Just to note, under Biden US manufacturing reached a 35 year high. Now thanks uncertainty due to trumps "decisions" manufacturing is decreasing.

Also the US unemployment rate is 4%. who is going to fill these jobs? Maybe immigrants? ….. Oh, hang on, they are forcing those guys out, so imports with tariffs are going to get more expensive and locally produced is also going to get more expensive due to lack of competition and a depleted employment base. I see a spiral effect happening here.

Trump has managed to deal russia it's biggest blow in years and he probably had no intention of doing it, oil price is tanking on the back of his tariffs and the sheer panic he's causing on markets..

The law of unintended consequences is gas

Is it known if anyone checked out his yard on the Thursday evening.

That's an interesting link, but it showsmore that his economists might have the start of a plan, but Trump may well muck it up. It's all the one anyway to him, disgruntled and unhappy voters are easier to manipulate and he'll just blame the rest of the world anyway. The current world trade system has a lot of negative trade offs anyway so maybe a bit of disruption and reappraisal is no harm.

He's only after power and glory, this OP is probably a better explanation of where his head is at.

We are not a country to throw stones, we have plenty of our own deviants like Varadkar and his antics in nightclubs

Not by me anyway, but probably someone (possibly his wife, one of his sisters or a neighbour did) I'd be surprised if they didn't. He lived his own day and life, I never met him out with his wife, much like a lot of us, but I believe they were very close, and I'd say someone would have driven the 10 minutes up the road when he didn't come home or answer the phone. They would have seen the car and (I assume) the wallet, phone and chicken roll in it.

As I said in an earlier post, I would have been an acquaintance, - always chatted when we met, but not a close friend. Despite this, I'll miss him, - he always had a slightly different and ironic take on circumstances, life and farming. A character.

Haven't been following the Mike Gaine story so much, but seeing the amount of media attention and resources into the search I came here to see if there was more to the story than a simple disappearance.

So it looks like there are rumours of foul play involved.

What possible motives could there be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 112 ✭✭Barry_Soweto

As for the Trump talk, I've lost nearly 6k in 2 days thanks to his actions but I do think he is doing what he thinks is best for Americans. Whether he's right is well up for debate.

He wants to make America self sustaining, not relying on other countries.

If all the manufacturing of American goods is in China, that's a massive risk in the event that China becomes a true enemy. Look at Europe during the Russia invasion. Relying on Russia/Ukraine for goods resulted in shortages and hyper inflation.

If the US is able to manufacture everything they need in their own country, they will be truly independent.

The easy thing for Trump to do would have been just to keep the status quo, have the markets grow 20% a year and claim he's got the best economy ever. His critics would have said he only cares about Wall Street. But when he crashes the market they only talk about the every day persons pension. But when the market goes up they always mention how much Musk or Zuck's personal wealth grew by.

As for the comments about no tariffs on Russia or Iran etc. That's because there's already sanctions on these countries. You're not really telling me that Trump is favouring Iran can you? The same Iran that's likely going to get a hit from a joint Israel/US military strike on their nuclear facilities in the coming weeks.

would u ever feck back to the political thread. Constantly spouting shite on here. We get it u don’t like vradakar or any other member of the current government. They are all bad in your eyes and all ills in society will be resolved by right wing/ left wing loons take ure pick.
ure no more farming than Tom the cat.

That's not fair, Tom plays his part - he's head of Pest Control according to Bord Bia's list.

I think foul play is becoming more likely as time goes on. I'd definitely be looking towards the homeless man that lived with him as the most likely suspect. Surprised they've started selling off his cattle!

The Mart would be familiar with his sale pattern over the years, selling his weanlings every Spring. Probably a few dry cows also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,301 ✭✭✭cute geoge

As far as I heard the homeless man is not in the picture, as in most of these cases the culprit is probably well known to the victim.
