i think a depression is a bit much, but definitely recessions on the way…..

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,753 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

The Depression bit is possible if he continues to attack and try to dismantle the FTC and the FED (which he is already doing)

And there’s continued talk about “Maro Lago Accord” which involves defaulting on US debt

These are literally the foundation blocks of US economy

And little orange turdicle is taken a pickaxe to them

I’ve been extremely bullish on US economy in last few years as Biden created and incredible growth machine which led to the best US economy ever by every metric, only for this turd to come along, alot of investors already got burned with the now proven to be false theory that he be “good for economy” and be playing golf or something, they didn’t account for him surrounding himself with revolutionary zealots and his own drive for “legacy” and dismantling the US so his dynasty can remain in power in perpetuity

Its a terrible indictment of the human condition that we, from a position of relative peace and prosperity, allow a handful of pricks, drive us headlong towards a global conflict.

Just like when people look back and say why didn't we dispense with Hitler earlier. In 50yrs time they'll be saying the same about Trump, Putin and Netanyahu

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,320 ✭✭✭✭Wanderer78

a depression is possible of course, but im not convinced it ll be, but definitely a recession, and it could be a nasty one

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,753 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

I don’t disagree but hope for the best, prepare for the worst

He may yet get spooked and stop all the nonsense around imploding the foundations of the US economy

Tho that might be wishful thinking, right now the bottom is not in sight and trillions are at stake at the whims of a bafoon who already wiped out 6 trillion in 6 weeks

Vance has the charisma of a sick bag. He'll never win an election.

Don't underestimate MAGAworld's ability to use mental gymnastics to convince themselves that a Uncharismatic Sickbag is somehow the better solution to whatever Marxist Far-Left Commie™ the Dems will put forward.

Sure, they managed to put an Incontinent Talentless Letch into the White House…twice!

The MAGA movement will be crippled when Trump leaves the stage. It's his cult of personality that carries it. Nothing more. No matter what one says about Trump he has a unique and strong personality.

Most republican house members are tolerating him now because they have to but once the writing is on the wall after the mid-terms they'll gradually take more mainstream positions and move away from the MAGA movement which most of them privately despise.

Vance won't stay with MAGA either. His 'principles' change with the weather.

Good post and I agree in general with the sentiments - however, Russia and Putin were just ignored in some respects over the last 4 years - we know when the world treats Putin as as underdog and sidelines him through trade bans etc he attacks -neither approaches (Democrats and Maga) are necessarily correct . But it’s not an easy situation to resolve either that’s for sure

Don’t need “charisma” if checks and balances are destroyed by Trump

Just ask Putin who has the charisma of a priest at a rave

Nor would it be Vance who is next in line but one of Trumps spawn as he wants to a monarchic type dynasty like Saudi Arabia

I agree. He reminds me a lot of Ron DeSantis, a kind of simmering evil behind their eyes.

Too early to tell how it will go but at this point, I think one would be mad to rule anything in or out - the fact MAGA/Trump won the election in the first place or indeed that Trump was the candidate, should be enough to put all on alert

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 483 ✭✭Will_I_Amnt

He's absolutely not trolling about the 3rd term. Steve Bannon is talking about it too. He's not gonna resign either, with the Trump meme coin, his $5 million charge for meetings with business leaders etc - There's too much easy dosh to be made and there's too much commotion to be caused, lame duck or not.

Also 4 Supreme court judges are in their 70's. He'll hang in there hoping to appoint a 4th judge, maybe even a 5th one and have his paws all over the supreme court for potentially another 40-years.

Plus, whoever the Republican candidate in 2028 is, Trump will want to be stirring it up on that campaign - Especially if that candidate is Don Jnr which I think is what he has his eye on.

Nope. They are already having buyer's remorse. Vance is fast becoming a laughing stock.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

There's a fair chance he could die in the next few years. He doesn't seem to be a healthy weight. Almost certainly obese.

    Vance is favourite currently.

    Long way to go 🤣

Trump could die and they could replace him with video footage only, telling his followers that he's alive and well in Mar A lago and they would 100% believe it.

It reminds me of this. This would be what he could look like without makeup and a hair piece.

He's really old, it's just harder to see because of the cosmetics he uses.

How many countries have a head of state who has declared economic war on most of the countries it has cultural, familial, diplomatic, economic, trade and military pact ties with? How many countries have a head of state who has threatened to use his country's military in trans-border operations against its two neighbours, despite having trade deal pacts he arranged and signed his country up to as fair and equitable deals? How many heads of state have threatened to unlawfully use his nations military against the territory of a Trans-Atlantic country with whom his country has a decades old military pact from early in the last century? How many countries have a head of state who has brought into use a piece of legislation dated from 1798 called the Aliens War act, designed for use in a time of military war, against civilians during a time of peace in his country? How many countries have a head of state who has declared time and again his intent to ignore the constitution of his country after twice swearing an oath of loyalty to that constitution? How many counties have a head of state with an obligingly "did I say that" forgetful memory?.

Folks, I give you the non-doddery right honourable Donald J Trump, current holder of the office of the US president.

Indeed, but keep in mind half the American population voted for Trump knowing that his manifesto was barking mad and hateful towards all minorities and non-Americans. They are clearly in a bad place at the moment.

Trump is not the problem and not to blame. America is the problem and the blame!

But if boards.ie rules are to be applied consistently across the board, then we can’t possibly allege that there’s anything wrong with his mind 🤪

Wouldn’t it be lovely all the same if this could be a Trump headline:

NEWSMarine Le Pen is sentenced to four years in JAIL and BANNED from entering presidential elections as she is found guilty of embezzlement and accused of 'undermining democracy'

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14554463/marine-le-pen-banned-presidential-elections-guilty-embezzlement.html

So in next election could Vance run as president with Donald as vice president? With the cult understanding it's a loophole to keep Donald in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,844 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

I don't know why this is the latest thought process.... He would be prevented to run as VP because he's ineligible to run as president. Under the 12 amendment: "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice President of the United States"

No. 12th amendment to the constitution states:

"But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States".

So, he's had his two terms, therefore ineligible to be president, therefore…

One of the conspiracy theory loons who seem to have his ear might have told him there's a way but there isn't.
