The above BWG offer expires for me today. I have an urban night saver meter. (not smart)
I don't have a battery or solar or heat pump. I do have 2 x electric cars.
I have not get a better offer from Flogas, other than I will be put on 'standard rates'
Checked on bonkers and not much there either.

When all is said and done, is the best option equal to the energia one below:

Same situation as you. Think i'll be going with Energia. Don't see anything better bar a smart plan but I'm happy with the full 9 hrs cheap rate. The limit on night time usage the only issues really. Prices seem similar to BWG bar it's not a fixed rate.

I just called Flogas as, like everyone else in the BWG plan, mine expires today. When I was asked if I still worked for BWG I stupidly said no so I wasn't offered the new BWG deal. Does anyone know what the new deal looks like for D/N? Is it fixed and what at the kwh charges?

The CS agent did say that the BWG contracts have all been extended to the 15th of April due to the delay in getting the new offers out so she said to be careful about switching before that date in case I'd be exposed to the €50 contract break charge. On the plus side we have another 2 weeks of the old BWG pricing.

Just off the phone with Flogas, BWG deal updated today .243 cent 24hr and price fixed (not discount fixed :)) for 18 months. I could renew on the phone before email and link coming tommorow and have already got my renewal email.

Can they just arbitrarily extend the contract like that and penalise people for switching (who likely got a letter stating their contracts expire today)?

Very good point and I said as much on the call but she wasn't committing either way and said to speak with a manager before I switched in case the €50 would be applied. I have the letter saying March 31st as well but no subsequent letter stating that it had been extended. She did say that the contract was BWG wide and not person specific but I cant see that being an excuse as we must surely have to be told individually.

hmmmm, 2 letters I got state the Flogas contract ends 31st march, so the above is a bit confusing

I've heard nada. Unless their smart bwg offer matches the energia 33% Smart Data offer then I'll be switching.

OK I'll answer my own question! Just off the phone.

    Day: 26.49c.

    Night: 13.35.

I stupidly didn't ask if that was VAT inclusive but I presume it is as the standing charge was quoted as unchanged at €331.33, which includes VAT.

Rates are FIXED for 18 months.

Current rates are being extended until 15th April so you have two more weeks at the 'cheap' rate, no need to rush your renewal or switch.

It's a bit higher than Energia (and standing charge too) but I suspect it will look attractive vs the Energia variable rate in the not too distant future.

Are you able to sign up or did they send you a link? Just asking for all the BWG employees…..

I didn't renew yet but I could have if I wanted to, they could have done it over the phone. May as well have two more weeks at a few cent less…..

Thank you, are your figures the new Flogas BWG day/night rates for an urban meter?

I am already on old BWG deal, so now seems like we have until 15th April still left on this (and not march 31st) , but I got no email etc about this. So when it comes to tomorrow, no real way of knowing what rate im on, well I can ring call center

just confused, was all set to change to energia tomorrow and now not so sure

It's no surprise when you see how archaic their customer portal is. It's like something from the early noughties.

I was with OVO in the UK. Their online customer portal was excellent. So much data available, the ESB customer portal is very similar these days.

I've only learned that the energia smart tariffs are variable so I might as well hold off a few days to see if a new offer comes through from flogas.

Yes, urban D/N figures, confirmed now to include VAT. I've got no emails either, but they said on the phone that all the BWG offer people have had their current rates (i.e. 23.5/12.35 or whatever it is) extended until 15th April.

Currently on BWG. How do we know for sure it’s extended to April 15th? (I have 2 letters saying ends 31st March)

Is there any way of checking or is it a matter of calling the call centre to verify.

I have a day/night meter in urban area - no battery, solar or heat pumps, but 2 X EV's.

I did a very basic calculation based on my last years usage of day/night. Rates below, All including VAT.

Based on this, the Energia scenario is about 160 cheaper per year versus the New BWG rate………but BWG rates are fixed.

Question, is it better to go with the fixed rates from BWG even though its more expensive

I guess this may mean someone having a crystal ball, but do we reckon rates will go up or down in next year or so.

I'm thinking BWG for peace of mind and not having to worry about rising energy prices.

Only the gas rate is showing on mobile, would you mind reposting with just the rates and not the table?

    A screenshot would also work
