HKC SW 1070 - Mapped Outputs and Keyswitches

I need to alter an HKC SW 1070 panel (UK model) to map RF sensors to a physical zone and setup key switches for a full set an part set in another 2 zones.

I understood I could add the RF sensors to a group and then assign the group to the physical zone and that would allow the physical zone to follow the RF sensors state but this doesn’t seem to be working in practice. Is this possible? If so, what’s the best way to do it?

For the key switches, I setup both zones to be key switches (one to full set and the other to part set) and have wired that to a relay that is set in a normally closed mode. In the software I set them both to their respective key switch type. But I’m getting a tamper fault when I try to exec the engineer menu. How could I avoid that tamper fault?

Thanks In advance everyone for your help

I worked out my key switch issue - that was due to the hardware - I changed the hardware type to non-EOL and we’re good to go!

Just need to figure out the followed state now

When you say add them to a group, are you meaning blocks?

So if you have zones 1-10 in Block 0/1, then 11-20 in block 0/2?

0 been the common block to cover all zones, then Block 1 and 2 are different areas like house/shed?

thanks for coming back to me @altor

I may well be using the words wrong, so I’ll try to explain - I have 4 zones (11-14) that are using RF motion sensors. At the same time I have wired zones (1-4) - I’m monitoring the state of these wired zones via a product called Konnected Alarm Panel Interface Kit. This connects to 1 terminal of the alarm side of each zone. Unfortunately that product doesn’t work with the RF sensors so I was hoping there was a way to copy or mirror the RF zones state (motion detected / not) to my spare wired zones (5-8). Based on my read of the manual (page 79 ) - I thought that might be the case.

I would post links to Konnected and the Manual, but unfortunately the board doesn’t let me yet.

Is that kind of thing possible please?

You could be in trouble as from what I have seen of that board it just uses hard wired zones from the panel and the RF are wire free zones or points but no physical connection to the panel.

You could try this but I dont know if it would work so just try one device.

Learn a wire free sensor into the spare zone and connect, e.g 5-8.

Delete one of the RF motions, then scan again, press quit, and use the star button to scroll backwards to the zone you want to use, spare zone 5-8. Trip the tamper to put it on this zone. Then connect up the Konnected to that zone and see if you can monitor the zone. Try with the link in place and removed to see if it makes a difference to the state of the zone in the Konnected app. If it works, then add the other RF zones the same way to the other spare zones.

Please let us know if it does.

thanks very much for your help on this. Let me see if I can work that out and I’ll give it a go! I assume if it doesn’t work I’d just set the RF sensor up into the same wireless zone and type as previously set and I’d go back to normal?

In terms of setting this up - when you say trip the tamper, can I assume that's just by removing the cover of the motion sensor? Would that work if the board is in engineer mode? Also, when you say try with the link in place and removed, is that the tamper link? Or something else?

If this doesn’t work, I assume the only way to access these zones would be through an additional output card and mapped outputs? I would then have an output for each zone? It’s additional cost and complexity, but I’m assuming the only other option that would provide this level of flexibility. Am I right in that?

Thanks for your help in this.

Yes, if it does not work you are only doing it on one device so easy enough to return to the zone you want it on.

When you enroll a wire free sensor you need to select the zone you want it on or the system will start enrolling on the next available zone. In your case you want to test it on one of the wired zones in the panel.

Yes, you can only delete and enroll devices in engineer mode.

Im talking about the link that is across the zone in the control panel.

We use to use a quick bridge that you could have the link in or out with the trigger wire from the quickbridge. Just hoping the konnected will work in some way monitoring the zone for this to work.

Yes, you can use mapping zones to outputs. 2 on board. Id just pay HKC the fee and use the app they have than go down that route.
