Kona 2019. Low speed whirring noise

Hey all,

I have a 2019 Kona EV. Today I noticed whirring noise when accelerating from low speeds. It isn't like the wheel of fortune noise, but a whirring noise like you are in reverse in an ice car. Maybe a bearing or something? Does anyone have an idea what might be the issue? Thanks.

Does the noise go faster and louder with speed and if you drift left or right on a clear road does the pitch change.

Its suggested in that thread to change the gearbox oil asap,

Lots of konas and Niros had motor/gearbox/reduction box issues, so check for bearing/gear noise that rises with speed. If you buy one of these change gearbox oil asap. Typically they went at low mileage but some went at 200,000km+. There are aftermarket bearing kits now for around 500 euro, plus say up to 1000 labor

Is your car still under manufacturer warranty? Under 150,000km under 7 years?

Can you record the noise for reference? Can you compare it to a similar car or get a mechanic to test drive it and confirm it's not a weel bearing etc?

Turns out it is the bearings in the reduction gearbox. The common wheel of fortune issue. Hoping to get a local garage to repair.
