That's not a low spec model. It has matrix headlights, sunroof and the mid spec interior.

You would of loved the ID4 that was up this morning on DD 18k for 232, the car next to it when on fire melted rear bumper and lights 😂

    370km according to EVDatabase.

What you gain in luxury and premium, I suppose you give up in efficiency compared to say an ID4 or Model Y for example.

exactly this. rats and mice almost always means wiring loom problems that you will never (ever ever ever) resolve.

It’s a bit easier to resolve on modern canbus cars if you know what your doing but the risk would need to be reflected in the price. That ID.5 would need to be cheaper to get someone to take it on.

    217,000km,huge mileage.

And will it being out of battery warranty now, many won't fancy it.

It could possibly be, maybe they listed it in miles by accident.

But from having seen a lot of DD adverts of late, people are listing big mileage cars in miles rather than kms, as the figures isn't as scary.

No you can see 2 in the first number on this picture.

    Proves my point

If the odometer shows 200,000 odd kms, why list it in miles?

    Sneaky.

I think the market is still trying to find a price point for 'high' mileage out of warranty cars, hence why some that might look like reasonable value aren't selling very quickly or at all.

While many might chance a few grand on an out of warranty old Leaf/Zoe etc, €10k+ motors can be different prospect if a comparable car with some warranty left is only a slightly higher cost.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Public transport user? If you're sick of phantom ghost services on the 'official' RTI sources, check bustimes.org for actual 'real' RTI, if it's on their map it actually exists.

    Good point.

These cars (high mile EVs that originally had good range) haven't really existed till now.

Good point. I have bought many cheap low end EVs without ever looking at battery health. But on a > €10k Tesla Model 3 with 250k km on it, that would be different. The battery modules are far less suitable for projects / home storage compared to Model S / X batteries too, so the residual value of the batteries is considerably less. Making the purchase much more risky.

BTW the latest Tesla OTA software update (that I got myself last night for my 8 year old car), should now have a built in function to show battery health. Saves you the faffing around with adapters, BT dongles and software like "Scan my Tesla" you have to buy for your phone. Will check it out myself soon hopefully

Can back that up - a friend from Belfast is looking to replace her 8 year old ICE car, which she got 3 years ago and which has given her an increasing catalogue of problems. Now that she's had a couple of spins in my eNiro, she's on the lookout either for one of those or else a Kona, but is insistent that there must be a year or more of full car warranty left, so I said I'd do a bit of digging for her. On Autotrader UK, there are a dozen Konas under £13kstg, with two of those on a 2022 plate - albeit with slightly higher mileage, with those two having covered 72-73k miles vs 2021 cars with 50-60k miles on the clock (so there may be a need to check out possible former use as taxis). But once you set the search criteria for asking prices up to £14k and 2022 cars only, most have mileage in the 50-60k bracket, so you're really only talking maybe £500-£600 of a difference for the newer car. The warranty on those goes to 100k miles anyway.

nice cars but as others have said not huge inside, have to say they look well in black or dark grey.

I actually like the white. It’s a pearl white which pops. And contrasts with the black details. I’d dechrome it and put on Matt black emblems. The AMG Line Plus is what I’d buy. Sunroof, augmented reality, 21” wheels and HUD.

you like everything in white 😁 but yes looks good with those wheels and dechromed in white, a neighbour has a white GLC in that spec and looks good.

Is this reasonable, what do we think realistic range winter/summer would be

It's reasonable. But big miles is big risk on them. Batteries are made from chocolate

    love his line

    "Batteries still getting to 100%"

indeed, the problem is how often you have to get them to 100% though, isn't it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,874 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    It'll always go to 100%.

I have similar car, 2019 with 90k on it.

I can get 200km in mild/warm weather, maybe a little more.

In the winter, cold, wet roads, you'd be looking more like 160km max.

Depends how you drive too of course.

    I know 🤦‍♂️

I just couldn’t live with the heartache of maintaining a black car. But a blacked out Merc does look aggressive in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,551 ✭✭✭sk8board

I’ll play the role of pedant - the graphic might be going to 100%, but the capacity might not be. The spectre of ‘chemistry’ comes to the fore eventually, however big or small.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 732 ✭✭✭TheWonderLlama

that was kind of my point. 100% now is not the same as 100% when it was new.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,420 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

worth mentioning Mercedes have different battery warranty..

The eqc would be 8 years/160,000 km or if you step up to the eqe/eqs it’s 10 years/250,000 km.

Whats crazy about them? Theres literally nothing on Donedeal thats even remotely close to any of those prices.

From a dealers perspective, they are able to buy multiple cars from the same seller at trade price, all within a couple of hours. That would literally take weeks to do buying privately. So time & convenience are probably a factor if you think they are too expensive..

Oh they might make sense as a buy for a dealer who can sell at retail, but even then I can't imagine there would be an awful lot in it after fees at those prices. But I don't really know their business so I can't really have a strong opinion there

I am just looking at it from a private buyer's point of view. Those prices make no sense at all. Not with the huge risk that buying at auction means. You can't compare with asking prices on DoneDeal, sure nobody pays that. Very tough market out there and buyers know it. A 6 bar Leaf and they paid €2210. Even if it was perfect with nothing wrong with it (which you don't know at auction). Madness. I wouldn't pay more than €800 for that in a private sale
