Confirmation gift - girl

    Looking for ideas.

    Got a girl (god daughter) making her confirmation soon.

    Was thinking of an infinity necklace or a nice pen engraved with her name.

    I'm not sure about jewellery as I don't know if she would be into it. Probably most would but unsure.

    The other idea was a nice pen (Parker or Cross) engraved with her name.

    I think anything religious would be wasted.

    I could go cash, but a gift would be nicer especially as I am god father.

    Thoughts?

    Maybe a gift voucher for a jewellery shop? At least that way you know she'll get something she will have for years to come rather than blowing the money on crap, plus she is guaranteed to like it as picking it herself. Or maybe bring her out for lunch, make a bit of a fuss and bring her to the jewellery store yourself and let her pick something?

    It's sort of on God parents to do the religious gift, though coordinate with the God mother. But it should be symbolic, a €50 necklace or a rosary not diamond studded 24k gold. Then you might as well keep the rest entirely practical. And personally I don't see the practicality of an expensive pen, is she supposed to have a fancy pen for just at home, or have it stolen in the first 5 minutes at school?

    Well that's what I thought about the pen too. I got one later in life and liked it.

    Would an infinity necklace pass the religious hurdle? Most kids aren't religious and I thought it might be as close as I can get. Sterling silver?
