You can be tagged for a different section in your department. It doesn't need to be your current section. HR will be able to tell you if there are openings in your department as a whole.

Have results been released for other counties? Or just Dublin?

How did you guys find the interview portion under the new system?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 97 ✭✭Aabbccdd

the new framework is great, it focuses a lot more on you as a person as opposed to the importance of the STAR format in answers under the competency framework. It is quite different, but I would say I thinks it’s easier. It was a lovely interview and the board were great. No interrogation, just trying to get the best out of you and letting you prove yourself. Very best of luck

trying to gauge where they are with this panel, can you say where you were after the online tests and before shortlisting. Just wondering if they will get as far as my place before the end of this campaign.

I am seeking some clarification in relation to the Report. Can anyone advise whether, when selecting a theme, must I address all bullet points of that theme or can I select one to focus on? Thank you

anyone get the EOI for this panel for newbridge? Can’t advise what department but I’d say it’s defence..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭CoolroeMan

ya, I got it.. was thinking it would be defence too

Location would be good but Would have thought mobility would have those filled unless it’s not a great place to be 🤔

Yeah I got it too.. agree it's probably defense

I zeroed in on one bullet point to focus on but I’d say you could pick a topic that would hit a couple of them either.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way to do the report, as long as it is well structured and has clear points.

Can anyone here that has been placed from this comp confirm their original OOM after tests and their OOM then in their batch after interview. Just trying to gauge whereabouts they are on the panel for placements.

I’m a good number in Batch 2 so just wondering how far away they are from my OOM. I’m hoping to stay within my Dept if I’m lucky 🤞

I got the EOI email for Newbridge also

is it an expression of interest or an offer?

What happens if you refuse it?

Surely as you applied for DUBLIN, Kildare should not be offered???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 77 ✭✭aislingm999

It's just an expression of interest. If you don't want it, then you just don't reply to it and you'll stay on the Dublin panel

Presumably they don't have enough applicants for Kildare , and thats why they maybe sent out an expression of interest.

is a position of 10 in group 2 good enough?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 97 ✭✭Aabbccdd

yes you will most likely be appointed. I think there’s about 215 people in batch 1 before interview so take out a percentage of that and it would be lower for those after the interview. They placed 262 candidates in the last HEO comp so provided there is the Same vacancies or even more this time, you will be a HEO before the end of the year I think :)

    Hi All,

For anyone who has sat the interview, Could you give a bit more information if possible, on what way the questions were asked, were they similar to the kpi's or did you give your example trying to cover all them ? Then follow up questions ?I have my interview in 2 weeks but I'm all over the place trying to prepare for it! Thanks.

Hi all, well done to all that have done interviews so far. How did you all find the presentation part of the interview? Its something I've never done before and it's really making me nervous for interview next week. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 RobbieH597

I feel the exact same way! I know once I get through it to the interview portion I'll be fine but the presentation part is alien to me.

Massive thanks to everyone who have been through the report writing, presentation and the interview and are sharing their experiences - it is invaluable for someone like me who is doing it for the first time.

Can I just ask if in the report I should detail certain tasks my team members would be doing as part of my plan or leave it as me and my team? And should I also mention that I would be an HEO in a certain section or division (e.g. ICT, HR or similar) or should this be left vague?

Like others, I am hoping for some advice on the report. I feel like I am doing the wrong thing.

I chose the digital first strategic priority and one thing my Department could change that would be in line with the priority. Creating a new IT system to replace the current paper based one.

Is that too specific? Is it supposed to be about the implementation of the strategy overall?

I feel like I have messed up the whole thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 201 ✭✭Lynnington3

I would say it’s not too specific , I really honed in on one priority , and focused on why I believe this would help the government achieve the strategy overall . Then I talked about HOW I would go about achieving it. And the implementation plan for the idea.

Has anyone any update on the Westmeath panel? Last I heard they had shortlisted top 7 but haven't heard of any movement since… Thanks

Received an email this morning advising I’m under consideration for a post in Dublin. They are moving quick!!

Have to return a form. No information on where in Dublin or what Department at this stage

    Morning folks,

Am I right in thinking that the HEO panel campaigns are approximately every two years and not every year?

I have looked back through the circulars and it seems like there was one in 2020, then in 2022 and then obviously this one in 2024.

    Thanks in advance 😊

I'd say the EOI for Newbridge is DSP. There's 4 HEO vacancies there.

PAS contaced my HR in my current department today…my current department had tagged me to stay , but PAS says I cant stay within my departmenet. Apparently some other department in Civil Service went to PAS requesting the first X amount of people in the Batch Dublin to go to them..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭natc

oh god I wonder what Dept that is! We could all be starting together 😅

Yeah was thinking that too haha. My current department is pretty big and I know there is alot of HEO vacancies within it , so I was suprised when I was told this haha
