Check in advice

Very basic question but seeking some advice. Travelling to Spain with the family (first time with young kids) in May this year, flying with Aer Lingus. Coming up from the midlands to Dublin airport, we are departing at 3pm. We have also booked a lounge at 12pm (Liffey Lounge).

Just wondering if anyone thinks that is too tight time wise? Lounge access is for 2 hours, so will be leaving there at 2pm, are we leaving it too late?

We also need to check-in bags also, so will need to arrive early. Is the lounge closed to the gate? And also is it after we have cleared security? I know you can only access the lounge 2 hrs and 45 mins from your departure time

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's bucket loads of time. You'll have no problems.

Middle of the day, airport should be quiet enough, Aer Lingus baggage drop is quite efficient with self service machines followed by bag drop counters.

Time from leaving the lounge to getting to the gate really depends on where they send the plane from, could be 5 minutes up to 20 mins (remote gates 335) but, certainly no need to leave lounge an hour before the departure time, the flight may be delayed and not showing the delay that early - when you know the gate you will also see how long it takes to reach. Just go when it starts to say go to gate, but, no rush.

Aim to be at the airport 3 hours before your flight if you want to be very comfortable and take it from there. Depending on which car park you are using allow time for bus pick and transfer.

The Liffey Lounge is after security, it is on a corridor between T2 & T1 - the easiest way to reach it is take the elevator from T2 after you've cleared the shops, when you exit the elevator you'll see signs for lounges (straight opposite), lounge is couple of minutes walk from there. Once checked in to the lounge you can wander to shops in T1 or T2 to your hearts content.
