there won’t be many store lambs left at this time of year.
usually store lambs are sold oct -dec. fattened over winter early spring and slaughtered.

Only thing left now would be weeds if lambs or maybe some ewe lambs .

Would you get weaned off lambs at the mart? I'm looking to buy a few lambs that would be alright in the field by themselves. So ones that have some sort of size

There won't be weaned store lambs till July at the earliest, would you buy thin cast ewe's and graze them for the summer

ah okay so I could get some in July. do you know a rough price range that they have sold at in the past, roughly, so I can loosely budget. How old are thin cast ewe's? What I'd like to do is buy lambs in the spring/early summer and butcher them in oct/nov. But I dont know a huge amount atm, i mainly only worked in dairy.

Hill type store's start from 60 euro usually available from late August, lowland store's 90 euro available from July, with store cattle so expensive this year, store lambs may be more expensive

Or buy old ewes with lambs at foot might be better value

I am thinking of doing similar let the ewes rear the lambs then fatten them a bit and sell on as culls. Finish the lambs or sell as stores depending how they do
