The stench of urine and the soggy soil will make that a session to avoid. The entire site reeked last year with the stale hot piss of 37,450* idiots being sprayed up every goddamned wall.

Your telling me you didn't see one woman pissing without going to the toilets?

Was unfortunately witness to it several times around the mainstage

He's got a job and that's to squeeze the last cent out of every vendor, ticket holder and sponsor.

he's doing it pretty well to be fair even if he is riding the festival hard and puttin her away wet each year.

I did some volunteering work at last year's gig and first job was crowd control at one of the gates. We arrived at 14:00, got chatting with the punters at the top of the queue who were there since 07:30. It's gonna be a scrum for tent pitches this year with the added numbers.

I have to agree. Another 5k punters scrambling for already tight pitches isn't going to be pretty. Weren't they forced to open an overflow campsite beside family campervans last year due to lack of space?

We arrived Wednesday evening in campervans (highly recommended! Very chill experience) then did some strolling around Gen-Pop Thursday and Friday. Thursday evening you could already see campers struggling to find a pitch in some areas, come Friday it was absolute madness. So many taking up ridiculous amounts of space with tents encircling massive gazebos. I know part of the festival 'experience' is getting in there and finding the right spot for you and your mates etc. but it just seemed last year was particularly bonkers. Absolutely zero information on where it might be possible to find a space. Also there was a massive amount of 'traditional' Gen Pop taken over by enormous glamping options in absolute acres of space which surely didn't help the situation. Just squeezing the same number of people into a smaller space.

I don't know what the early entry numbers are supposed to be limited to (was it 25k last year?) but it seems to me they were just letting everyone roll in on Thursday whether they'd paid for the privilege or otherwise.

I saw someone mention earlier that they're looking to increase the early entry to 40k. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing to be honest. It could help ease the surge on Friday, but either way it's getting squishier by the year. Also you'd expect they would have to put more on and open more stages to cater for such a large crowd on Thursday.

Last year had so many issues with regards to so many different things, one being camping. The previous year (2023) we arrived around 5PM Friday and there was zero camping space in any campsite, we were redirected to an overflow which was quite a bit away from general and without toilets (with a long-ish walk to them) but in fairness it was a nice area and near the car park, I suppose understandable with us being so late. Last year I'm pretty sure they increased capacity and descreased camping space due to them removing one campsite for boutique + reconfiguring another smaller, I could see this being an obvious via the map so arrived at 9:30am Friday morning to be sure to get a spot. But after walking for well over an hour through every campsite, thousands of people were all looking for spots and none were left, we read similar reports on here, it was carnage. Stewards were saying to hang tight an overflow would be ready in the next couple of hours, we were already there close to 2 hours, having to wait another 2/3 hours was a disaster along with having to carry everything another couple of km's. We eventually got very very lucky and managed to find a small spot barely big enough for the tent in the middle of a group of other tents. But all this leads to people throwing tents everywhere on/ too near pathways cleared for emergencies, etc. and becomes very messy should an emergency happen. People with gazebos and taking up big amounts of room/ more than needed don't help, but we could see a lot of stewards actively trying to tackle these.

Reconfiguring campsites for boutique meant everyone probably had an extra half km extra walk to the start of general camping too from the red gate and meant boutique didn't have any more/less walking to do, so no advantage anywhere. On top of this, there seemed to be very little cubicles/bathrooms in general camping in contrast to previous years and no matter what time of day it was (until the evening), people seemed to be quing (in hundreds at times) for a very long time.

80k vs 75k probably isn't a huge difference, but as a concern they NEED to cater for an extra 10/15k camping spots and that's apart from the main arena crowding issues (although I didn't find this as bad as some people), probably need two new larger general campsites to avoid similar issues with increased capacity.

God regular camping sounds like an awful hassle these days. Surely after those issues they'd have the standby overflow campsites ready to use if needed. It really is mad to think of what sort of a behemoth EP has become in recent years.

I’ve noticed for a couple of years now that they don’t scan your Thursday ticket, just want to see that you have one, Literally showing them in the TM app. In fact I had two earlies and two weekend, after showing them one early entry they weren’t interested in seeing the 2nd one, ‘just need to see the weekend one to scan” is what they told me.

Last year it was 25k (I think) with a 75k capacity, if you waked around gen-pop Thursday night it felt as if it was 80-90% full.

I suppose a decent chunk of the tents up on Thursday are for some people arriving on the Friday. People setting up 4 mans even though only 2 people down etc

Seen this last night on the banter group.

I wonder how they will manage it, ECO usually gave preference to returning campers, wonder if it will be a free for all

free for all in that no preference for long-standing returning campers.
byeco managed that list and it’s gone with them.

I saw on a Facebook page that a few tickets were popping up on Ticketmaster over the last few days and people that had unused loyalty codes were able to use the loyalty code to buy tickets
