Getting the sense that several German suppliers that were listed initially have either delisted on IE or have changed their shipping prices — looks like some were inadvertently offering free shipping. I had an order cancelled by a retailer without explanation and then all of their listings disappeared from IE

Just curious. What is the difference between this Max and the ones for sale on Adverts for €55?

Hagglezon website is great for comparing prices across all European Amazon sites. Always use it before making purchases. Hopefully they will add the Irish site to the search.

Only a matter of time before free delivery from the .co.uk site stops (or delivery stops completely). Then we'll be compelled to shopt on ripoff .ie.

I think we all saw this as bad news and sure enough, it is.

Nothing that will make a difference. The €55 Adverts offering is 16GB/2GB so will perform fine. Save your €30

Nothing except they come with European two pin plugs, Just sourced in cheaper EU countries.

Just to clear up some confusion!

Your .co.uk account login details work across the different countries markets!

You don't need multiple accounts across each. Prime is specific to the market you signed up to it on.

@obi604 can you keep your account on Amazon uk and go between uk and ie. Or is it one or the other

Asked the above in context to switching between markets on the mobile app.

You can freely change back and forth to the different markets.

So keep your initial account on the UK site and use it for the other countries!

So @iancairns please get your facts correct before calling out others of providing incorrect information!

Yes I switch my app from .co.uk to .ie this morning and back again!

You can browse between different country versions of Amazon just fine. Just don't switch your Amazon Prime UK to the .ie Prime unless you really want to.

You absolutely can switch back and forth between sites, orders made on one will not transfer to another though, you also cannot switch your prime back and forth.

Just tried it there. Disappointing that they don't seem to have alerts. I use that feature on camelcamelcamel a lot.

I just had a look there at 2 items, an SD card and a pair of headphones, and both are cheaper on the Irish site. The SD card by a few cent and the headphones by a fiver. There are some things that are more expensive but generally they seem similarly priced for most things I've checked.

Amazon.co.uk now charging postage even with prime?!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,378 ✭✭✭corkie

Did you do the same mistake as @iancairns and switch your Prime to your Irish account as well?

    Or:-

Why is Amazon charging me for shipping when I have Prime?
If only some items in your purchase are eligible for Amazon Prime, you'll be charged applicable shipping fees for the ineligible items. Delivery benefits and speeds vary from item to item, and not all benefits and speeds are available in all areas.

Edit:- Just wondering will more Items become not eligible on 'UK Prime' that ship to Ireland now, to encourage accounts to switch and be charged/fleeced Irish account prices on stuff!

It is not a concern of mine, not using prime, as I don't shop on amazon enough to need it.

Has to be some items dispatched through Amazon UK so?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 415 ✭✭PixelCrafter

There are a few things that seem to just be the DE price and shipping fee but in the main price and with allegedly free shipping.

I don’t really see them achieving much with these prices though

Given it launched on Patrick’s Day, I’m amazed they did no PR at all. Seems a very quiet launch. Maybe it’s just not ready and this is a soft launch beta test type approach.

They seem to be, finally we have access to reasonably priced CE certified power banks again.

Just because it has a CE mark on it doesn't necessarily mean the CE mark means "Conformité Européenne". China Export use a near identical mark.

I ordered something today, no postage and packaging included in the price.

Funnily enough the order is from a French seller.
