I just joined this board after searching for "Best Cryptocurrency discussion threads"….I needed a place (other than that Social Media cesspool) to vent and learn about the latest shenanigans in the Crypto "INDUSTRY"…..

It's Sunday here in the USA (Eastern Coast), and once again I see strange doings on the crypto market front….Since the beginning of this year when the Orange Hued would-be-Fuhrer was sworn in as the 47th President, the crypto currency Market has been a joke. EVERYONE in the retail crypto trading business (except me) was literally jumping for joy when Donald Trump was elected president….they all thought we were going to see another moonshot Industry-wide.

I, however, knew better because I understood the real impact that Trump's "policies" would have on the business, not to mention the impact the man himself would have on things. As someone already posted with Rick WIlson's Book, Trump is literally one of the WORST BUSINESSMEN EVER….EVER! You don't file for 6 Bankruptcies over the course of 45+ years (including 2 in the …..CASINO BUSINESS) unless you are a special kind of idiot. His corruption and lack of ethics alone guarantees that whatever he touches, will indeed die, but not before he and his army of 3,000 lawyers ensure he will survive a tiny bit richer. His MEME coin fiasco 3 days before inauguration was the match that turned the moonshot rocket into a fiery mess…his wife's Coin was simply the dispatcher rerouting the fire trucks.

Getting back to TODAY (Sunday) and what's happening….I watched with my Sunday Morning Coffee as my portfolio ONCE AGAIN lost about 12-15%, before yo-yoing back up slightly….on SUNDAY. This has happened too often now to be a coincidence. There is some SERIOUS collusion and market manipulation going on between the Exchanges, and the LARGE HODLERs like the Investment firms and a few whales. Simply looking at Bitcoin, the amount now in the hands of super wealthy HODLERs vs Small traders and retail hodlers has swung very far in favor of the LARGE Wealthy concerns. They've shaken out a lot of the small guys and concentrated in THEIR hands a lot of BITCOIN. It's very disappointing when you think about the original VISION of Bitcoin being a "playing field leveler" and something for the "everyday" man to have to get out from under the thumb of the super-wealthy.

Other Crypto-Currencies, like the pious self righteous Cardano, continue to advance a little then DROP….advance, then drop, over and over and over again. Someone is making a crapload of money on these continuous fluctuations. Is it all these AI BOT traders arbitraging the market to death? Or is it (again) some master plan by the masters of the universe to gain total control? Because Crypto is still so Unregulated and with no real oversight, it remains a haven for scammers, and little to no recourse for victims of scammers, or people who simply make a mistake inputting a number or value.

I belive in Cryptocurrency as a great thing for the future….but it's the FUTURE itself I worry, and weep for…..

    Dunkin' Donuts….I hate STarbucks.

As I said, I just joined this forum, and I don't plan on making all my posts as (seemingly) long, but honestly I am not going to hold back if I feel I have something legitimate to say. I WANT to be wrong about Crypto being corrupt, or co-opted by the usual suspects….someone PLEASE show me I am wrong. REALLY SHOW ME with evidence…..I'd be grateful

Eth stopping it's free fall at 1870 for the last week looks very very strange, almost like someone is protecting liquidation of certain loans...

You said it yourself. It's becoming a closed eco system of wealthy elites. Exactly what it was purported to topple! You should type what you said here into Chatgpt and see what it says.

And if you're this emotionally involved you probably own too much...

They are. A big wallet some say is the Ether Foundation sold lots of ether to stop it a few days ago.

Loads of articles across all the sites on whales making huge multi million bets aaaaaaaaand they're all winning.

Had to double check there, thought for a moment I was on Reddit

Did anyone else see that one of the AI bots, can’t remember which one, was fed Reddit text and dropped something like 30 IQ points immediately.

No doubt about it that human intelligence has dropped drastically in the past 15-20 years, and I include my own in that, mostly I’d say because of the distractions, I’ve tried to read more the last while but have now reverted to audio books as my discipline of reading is not what it used to be.

Stolen Focus is probably the most insightful book I’ve read the last few years and gives the most accurate depiction of the current relationship of society and its distractions, and how we got here.

I don’t think that’s the full picture though, some people say society is becoming more and more divisive regarding political poles and I have a theory that the reason is not politics or beliefs but that we are starting to see 2 distinctive groups of people, critical thinkers and non critical thinkers.

Maybe it’s just the path we are on, AI will change society drastically in the next 10-15 years, there will be less and less for us to do in areas of production, the importance of gathering wealth at this moment in time can’t be underestimated, crypto will work side by side with AI in the future and is the best opportunity we have.

Anyways, enough from me, the bottom line is as ever about following the liquidity and this cycle is about to hot up, I’ve been buying since after the FTX crash at the bottom of the last cycle and plan to get out toward the top of this cycle, and my exit is near.

It seems he took profits and bailed though some reckon he will be back at 84k, a very risky play paid off. Early macro reports are of avoiding a recession, I personally don’t think the fed will move rates this week as they still see inflation needing to cool a bit more, so more of the same sideways or downwards to come for a bit, April and may looking like moving up months unless something pops off, Trump always capable of providing a spark as he needs rates lowered to manage the us debt.

    Ending QT could be enough

Gas price down, egg prices down, war in Ukraine coming to an end, inflation steady, government cost saving in full effect, a lot of good signs, can’t see how the Powell speech is going to be negative, but it does seem weird that gold is up so much.

they spent billions more in Feb than last year. they haven't saved anything. They've signed the death warrants for probably millions of poor folk though.

The eggs...they fired a load of the people (in that fake cost saving) employed to actually help contain that bird flu outbreak which incidentally will probably be the real pandemic in death terms but will also come from a lab.

But it's their sh1tty agricultural practices that breed it.

Theirs no need for things to be like this, millions of the wrong people are gonna suffer/die.

Japan hold interest rates, the door is now open for more risk, this could be a great day

The uncertainty needs to end for a decent recovery. The tariffs and unknowns are putting pressure on things. Yet on the flip side there are loads of states that are green lighting bitcoin as part of pension funds. That could be bigger than the federal wealth fund given that it’s easier to act as a state.

Not quite over yet, but they are slowing it down significantly. Should be over by the summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,283 ✭✭✭erlichbachman

The cycle will now be a bit longer which is fine, however the last cycle was cut short imo due to ftx and Luna disasters, the longer the cycle the more room for something to go wrong, on the flip side a longer slower cycle could see higher returns, and it could be argued that the crypto world is much more mature and less leveraged these days, which could be seen by the way the recent hack was managed.

Im liking this guy more and more for a balanced perspective and a necessary macro view, might even sign up to his real vision thingy if it’s not expensive, anyone signed up to this?

Trump to speak at the crypto summit today

Gotta lol, he’s capable of saying anything but this seems a bit strange unless he has something new to add. I did think he took the action that he said he would and was done but it seems he might actually be a fellow crypto bro in the making!!

Actually I think I found the real reason Trump is attending

    ETH looking juicy. €1450 rn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 230 ✭✭byrne249

Wouldn't chance anything, if the broader market decides to really sell off this stuff his heading so far south it's going to make our heads spin. Far further than I would have initially thought for a mid cycle sell off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,431 ✭✭✭antimatterx

If you're afraid to buy at 1450, Jesus wept. It will make new ATH this year. The tariff fear will not last.

The chance of recession in the US has jumped up 60% according to certain analysts. And that's just with what we know now, if there are escalations or full blown tariff war it will mostly certainly get worse. And then there's the uncertainty of Trump, he's highly erratic, which is further shaking global markets.

Gold is rocketing up, as predicted, but crypto is descending - the fact that it can't make it's mind up is again not helping.

If Eth turns around, cool, but personally I wouldn't touch it unless it goes sub 1k. BTC has cemented it's status, but the fear for Eth is that it's not doing a great job and is replaceable by other platforms.

    €2100 a month later. Incredible.

My only regret is that I didn't buy even more, but that's a good regret.
