It's really 46K, unless you really like white…Every other colour adds 1K!

In fairness, white is my favourite colour so I’d be happy with that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 865 ✭✭✭SEORG

Its €44,300 for white, other colours are €800 extra.

Mercedes have been screwing Irish people for decades with massively inflated prices relative to other countries and other brands. It’s a wonder anybody buys them with their Paddy Spec cars

I posted the full price list from the garage broucher on page 2.

    It's 42k for White, with 3k delivery charge, 45k.

Other paint is 800euro, true, but you lose 270euro in VRT savings, so any other paint costs you 1.070k net.

    So it's 43 070 with other paint, with the 3k delivery, 46 070.

It's all on page 2 inc discounts and final price. (3k delivery exc.)

So when the sales man tells you other paint is 800euro, it's actually costing you 1070euro in the fine detail.

blame VRT. That's why we get 'paddy spec' cars

The Sealion 7 prices should be interesting with MSL tax.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,506 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

    Wait…*3K* "delivery"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 865 ✭✭✭SEORG

OTR price for metallic paint is €45,100

    I collected mine last Thursday.

Keep us all posted on what it's like to live with. Considering the LR version when available

Anyone know if MSL are taking trade ins against the Xpeng, or is it another Tesla situation?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,286 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Generally they take trade ins, but, they operate the same model as in they send it out to the trade to price. Then come back with a cost. The alternative is if its something they think they will retail themselves, they may take in and price. They told a friend of mine to sell his Hybrid Toyota first and then come back when they were launched last month.

When is it going to be available? I thought only AWD was not available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 171 ✭✭declan123

I was told end of June or early July for the LR, didn't enquire re the AWD.

Bjorn Nyland at 30:18 mark says "that is basically one-pedal driving".

The same in the article below.

Driving on X-pedal (one pedal) is easy and efficient.

As per @unkel it's not a complete one pedal driving. Reddit confirms that and allegedly full one-pedal will come in April's OTA update.

The initial MG4s had the same too, slows to a crawl (but keeps crawling). Had to press the brake to fully stop and engage autohold. Full one pedal driving (ie slows to a stop) was introduced on facelifted model.

Must be a design choice, maybe it's common in China for some reason?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,506 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

That might be it. Auto-hold with 1-pedal driving is such a core requirement now it feels weird to be in any other vehicle that doesn't have it.

Did I hear the Seal Ion7 doesn't have 1-pedal driving (yet)?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,286 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

The standard Seal doesn't have it, so id be surprised in the 7 has it.

Facelift prices are going to be lower, but obviously no guarantee that same will happen on European market.

Have these been released to customers already? Saw one parked in a residential area in Cork city this evening.

Edit: I see someone above got one alright.

Yea. Last week of Feb they started being registered and released. We should see up to about 50 in the Q1 beep beep stats.

Another link on the new Model..

It quite long actually and great if you love you battery tech!

I can't afford either at the moment, so will probably have to wait anyway until the new model is here anyway, maybe by 2026, but no details of when it might come?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 Jet91

I've decided to wait on the refreshed version based on the battery improvements and the video rearview mirror and the fact that we received the current G6 a bit late in this country compared to others so it doesn't feel as new.

I also prefer the small design changes and even though there's no frunk the refresh appears to at least have a cover under the bonnet that looks a lot cleaner.

Hopefully we get the refresh in the same timeframe as other RHD countries.

    Two Week Review

This is my first electric car and so far, I’m happy with the change.

I have the short range with the white interior, I think it looks much more premium than the black interior but that’s personal taste. I might change my mind in a few months as I have 3 kids. The car gets plenty of attention on the road which adds to the new car feel-good factor.

The range is fine for me, and the efficiency has been good. I’ve done a combination of city, motorway, and west coast driving and I’ve been more than happy with kWh/100 kms in the mid-teens.

There are 4 customisable drive modes, ECO, Standard, Sport and Individual. Performance is excellent, it has more than enough pick-up if/when needed.

Most functions are through the centre console/screen with lots of customisation available. The lack of buttons and dials etc was a bit of a worry at the beginning but 2 weeks in I am already familiar with most features. The screen menu-bar/shortcut icons are customisable like an iPhone and you can swipe down for short cuts also.

The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) & Lane Centring Control (LCC) and the semi-autonomous lane changing works very well.

The self-parking has worked perfectly on each occasion I have tried it. I have only used it while sitting in the car but it can be used through the app also when not in the car if entering a tight parking space. The car can be summoned out of a parking space if opening the doors is a bit tight. It’s all a bit gimmicky but it works.

AC can be controlled from the steering wheel (fan speed & temp) and the screen in more detail.

One issue Derek mentioned in his review was the indicators not turning off after turning, I have found that happens from time to time.

The x-combo feature is where you can automate functions when certain conditions are met or just run manually through the mobile app or on screen.

Eg, When entering the vehicle by the driver's door > Turn off the front defog. There are lots of combos that can be customised.

X-Pedal – it’s not full one pedal driving (yet) as there is a bit of creep but auto-hold can be engaged by depressing the brake pedal with a little extra pressure. It's not a big issue for me.
