How feasible is it to get rid of crows with the current laws?

Hi OP - just wondering if you ever found a way of getting rid of that rookery?

Currently building a house on a site and have a rookery across 5 or 6 trees located adjacent to the site and on both next door neighbours back gardens. They seem to fly between the trees and make an absolute racket. Spent half a day working on site last week and had a pain in my head leaving with the noise. Every tradesman that's been to site has commented on the noise. Sh1tting all over the laneway too. Actually saw one of the neighbours feeding them bread a few evenings ago, was like a scene a Hitchcock movie.

Anybody actually managed to get rid of an established rookery? Don't want to go shooting birds in my new neighbour's back garden. Obviously can't cut down their trees either. Could try a hawk kite but wanted to hear some reviews first. Also could try a larson trap but there look to be 1000's of them so not sure that's really practical either.

Hi all. I came across this thread today while trying to find a solution for a crow problem of my own too. The neighbours trees are absolutely full of the blasted crows and I can barely hear myself think with the noise they make. There is easily about 200-300 of them. The yard is destroyed by their **** and the noise is horrendous.

I live in a bungalow and as you can see from the picture the neighbours trees are quite tall and are full of crow nests. I think they're building more nests right now too.

I'm wondering if anyone tried out any of the methods mentioned and what worked best? I'm at my wits end here trying to get rid of them.

Just about to move into our new house and the crows are as loud as ever. Its really very frustrating. Would really like to hear if anybody has tried anything that worked?

They have probably been building and living there for years.

They are getting ready to have & rear ttheir young.

This happens every year in the countryside. Are you new to the countryside?

While they are nesting & breeding they should be left alone. In fact I think it's illegal to interfer with them.

There is an old belief that it brings bad luck to a property if the crows ever leave.

So suck it up or move?

Wait until the young are reared and gone, then remove the nests(as they sometimes use old nests), set up a gas banger to scare them off.
Have someone with bird of prey pop in every now and again to scare the birds off or get a kite in said bird shape and see if it scares em.

    Or get a 12g.

Youre the blow-in, you moved into their territory. They were there before you.

Unless you can convince your neighbours to trim down their trees next Autumn, there is sFA you can do about this situation from your pic. Not on your property, not ,technically, your problem. If your neighbours aren't botherd by them, you are totally out of luck, bar maybe going the legal route of trying to get redress for noise nusiance, but as they don't "own" the crows ,but the trees the crows are using.Proably wont do much for your neighbourly relations either…

On the somewhat positive side, you have a great free intruder alarm system.Crows are highly alert and will kick up a racket day or night if anything comes near their nesting colonies, and have been known to mob attack whatever it is thats bothering them.
