Knee replacement questions

Just bumping this for any further info/updates?

I see "Denis Collins" from the sports santry clinic has a recommendation in this thread:

I have seen Mihai Vioreanu on a recommendation from a friend, but in that case it was a meniscus injury that was treated, not a partially or full knee replacement, which I need. As above, he's also hesitant to do the actual surgery, thinks I should wait longer (tell that to my immobility and pain).

I used to attend a surgeon in Galway mentioned several times, Dr Paraic Murray. But alas he retired. I know following his retirement, and with him being a lifelong triathlete, he actually has his own knee done with a surgeon in the east, but I just can't get a hold of him now to find out who? (GDPR now-a-days)

Maybe Dr Vioreanu is a top guy for the job? But obviously you really only get one crack at a successful surgery, and you want to ensure it's done right the first time (must remember to ask him about a "cemented implant" at my next consult).

Other recommendations I've read here are:

Maurice F Neligan, Beacon (director of their clinic?)

Denis Collins, Sports Santry Clinic

Mark Jackson, Santry

Ray Moran, Santry (director of that clinic?)

A friend also had a successful hip surgery done with Paul Nicholson, but knees are reputed to be more complicated.

I guess scheduling a second opinion at least may be no harm, but I'm a little nervous about doing that even, and my GP is old school, "stay with one person!".
