Man I’m Seeing Never Around

Nothing like that at all. More like I would I expect someone to be available one day some weekends to do something and find it strange he hasn’t been around any weekend. Not a huge expectation imo.

I have a couple of times but it wouldn’t really go beyond 2/3 messages. He did say before he’s not really into texting but it would nice to have some bit of it too.

Nothing beyond kissing as we’ve only met at the pub/restaurant and then he’d walk me back to the car. I’m not sure if he’s just looking for company. I do get impression he likes me when I’m with him but seems like he’s very polite and respectful, which in fairness is a nice trait if that’s the case but it would leave you a bit confused along with everything else.

I’d agree with that. That’s the way it’s always been in the past anyway.

Anyway I am overthinking it now. I will give it a few more weeks and see what happens. If nothing changes then it won’t work for me.

There was no sick granny theory! I was using an example of my own life where I'd started seeing someone & wasn't available at weekends because of that.

OP if he's said he's not into texting and it's not going beyond a few messages, have you two tried phonecalls? My partner & myself rarely texted much at the beginning of our relationship but we'd ring each other every couple of days at least. It was a lot better for communication. Sometimes was a few mins only, sometimes a couple of hours.

I think instead of all the focus being on him, you need to ask yourself if you like him. If you see a potential relationship with him. Ignore the not available currently at weekends part but focus on him as a person. Is he someone you enjoy spending time with & want to get to know better? Do you fancy him? You don't have to answer me but those are the questions you should be thinking of & coming up with the answers to. If the answer is yes, then you start working on the reason he's gone the whole weekend and if you're happy to work around that for the time being & then maybe become part of that weekend away home.

I have been on about 8 dates with him

    In a month?

Honestly I think you need to change the thread title.

Sounds to me like you are putting far too much pressure on him and you.

People are not going to change their lives drastically for a fledging relationship that is only a mere few weeks old, that said 8 dates in a month is hardly ghosting you, the opposite if anything.

Not read all the comments so apologies if mentioned already. Perhaps he is in habit of taking laundry home to his mam every week and then back to the smoke with fresh clothes and maybe some home cooked items? Men are creatures of habit!!

OP, decide what it is you want from this relationship and instead of opening a thread on Boards, why don't you talk to this guy about it.

Seems like you are heading down the road of a casual relationship which might be exactly what this guy wants.

If its not what you want then come straight out about it and see how he reacts... should tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks everyone. You are right. It’s better to speak to him than posting here. I find the weekends missing a bit strange and was not sure what to think. Probably overthinking it all due to things in the past. The only way is to see what happens and have a conversation about it and then decide.
