Mummy, Daddy and Ammi accompanied by one of the sons, Obviously the reporter couldn't tell which clone.

    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/enoch-burkes-family-spark-speculation-over-elon-musk-invitation-as-they-fly-to-washington/a1651186221.html

"While father Sean, mother Martina and daughter Ammi, joined by one brother, would not answer questions about their journey, the White House did not immediately say if the family were formally invited to attend events as part of St Patrick’s Day celebrations."

The WRC award was based on the complainant's salary like all other awards of its kind. Maybe if Musk had taken any kind of legal advice he'd have been aware it's more difficult to sack people over here. Hopefully they have been offered asylum and they stay over there.

Surely someone needs to tip off immigration about Daddy Burkes recent violent criminal conviction?

A visit to Cuba would do them good, sunshine, lovely climate, repressed Christians under an unfriendly regime, free board & accommodation in a US facility [Guantanamo] there to wave at the locals from.

Who's driving Enoch to school during these hard times?

    ”one of the sons”

Love that they couldn’t pin which one it was exactly 🤣

Boys oh Boys this has got my spider sense tingling - I don’t know why they are in DC but -

Be some craic if Musk gets them into the Oval Office and they absolutely tear Mickey Martin a new 1, shouting over him with Trump backing them up - in the full glare of the media!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,513 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

And the liklihood of that actually happening, do you think?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,827 ✭✭✭Hoop66

Deranged religious fundamentalists attacking the Taoiseach with the support of the US president, would be "some craic"?

I imagine they are been flown to Washington by the same cultist loons who are allegedly bank rolling them in Ireland to appear on podcasts or something grossly miscategorised by the "news".

I imagine they will have to be pre-recorded and heavily edit if they even get aired at all.

Mammy absolutely losing her wig over sodomites would probably be even a bit much for the bible thumpers over there.

But could I say for definite that absolute clown Musk will wheel them out in some press conference or even the White House itself.

    No.

I do hope the judge in his contempt case will be watching Enoch because I am absolutely sure he will say something which will amount to further contempt for the judge's order. i.e. "I have no intention of following the biased judge's directions"

Back to chokey with you when he touches down in Dublin.

Actually, could we refuse to admit him as a threat to children?

I don’t think the Burkes need a White House invitation to cause trouble here .

Given this is Irish week or month or whatever over there, an interview with Fox News is very likely to have been arranged - possibly for today in fact - with this interview in advance - that in itself will push the press to ask questions at the shamrock presentation gig - it’s the “perfect” story for these media outlets right now - forget the tariff questions, this could become a real hate fest very quickly against MM and Ireland - all of the conditions are in place for it to happen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,046 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

yes it would be some craic - the circus in full flow and Mickey Martin doing his open mouth close mouth goldfish routine “dibbedy dibbedy” while Mama Burke takes him to church and sets him right!!

and MM afraid of his shadow with Trump presiding over it all !

    Mod Edit: Warned for trolling

Enoch has said that multiple times to several different Judges in literal court.

The judicial patience and leeway Burke has been given is a genuine mystery.

Unlikely they will be there in the office. Likely that trump will rail on about anti-semetic Ireland. Tax dodge. Woke causing Ireland to lose its way "Locking up a teacher for his beliefs" (I know. I KNOW it's not that but that's what he'll say). As I think I said elsewhere, trump doesn't need the Irish American vote. He doesn't WANT the Irish American vote. His MAGA loons think that Europe is a cesspit of woke anti-semetic deviants (ie, homosexuals). REAL Muricans are from MURICA and not tree-huggin' "liberal" (you know what THAT means, wink wink) Europe.

So yeah, I do believe MM will be berated and shouted down to by trump and his goons at least partially about the burkes.

You can't "set right" someone with a flow of deranged ranting.

In fairness you’ve listed a whole load of things Trump could throw at Ireland and any one of them would not be pleasant - I can’t see him passing up the opportunity to raise at least a few of those issues in front of the press- Trump doesn’t do “tradition”- every time he’s in front of the cameras he uses that opportunity to push his MAGA agenda - the shamrock ☘️ ceremony won’t be any different

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,046 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

I wouldn’t say it’s “deranged ranting” - what usually happens is the Burkes ask awkward questions and the person ignores them/distracts from the question, then the Burkes are forced to repeat the question often loudly.
It’s not very polite I agree but it isn’t deranged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72,879 ✭✭✭✭L1011

You're not going to find anyone who isn't a Burke to agree with you there.

Screaming, ranting about sodomites and having to be physically removed is not repeating awkward questions. It is deranged behaviour and once would have had you committed to an asylum.

Are you sure ? I remember the White House being invaded not so long ago, Pelosi hiding under a chair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,826 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

Hmmm. It wasn't the White House, and in the incident you refer to they did actually shoot someone dead who got 'too close'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 248 ✭✭Qaanaaq

I think they will try and go on a media blitz to try and overshadow the visit. They want to make sure their cause gets talked about and drown out any other messages that MM may want to be heard by the US public.

The current rhetoric in the US is perfect for the Burkes so they will try to take maximum advantage to spin their story.

Ah thanks I missed that. So, no Enoch. I’m really baffled, it’s like I can’t believe they’d be invited or Is it so wild for any of the Musk, Trump or Vance to invite them. I wouldn’t be placing a bet on this that I know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 278 ✭✭balanced24

Still ridiculous considering they adjudicate on Equality cases which none come near that award. The WRC is part of the Dept of Enterprise, it was political.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,826 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

They just aren't media-friendly in the USA sense though, are they? They aren't exactly charismatic and don't come across like the sort of people who could hold the attention of the American viewing public for more than 10 seconds before some producer shouts 'cut'.
I suppose it's possible someone takes them aside and dresses them up, gets them to speak faster/more concise, feeds them lines etc.

Up to now we haven’t any insight as to just what their contacts are in America and who’s supporting them - a lot of speculation alright but no clear evidence - will be interesting to see who they’re photographed or videoed with.
I just have a horrible feeling that this could well be a very organised sh1t dump on MM and Ireland in general - given all that MAGA have done to date, it’s their playbook .

Fox News could easily have them - given that there’s already stuff in the American news yesterday around the Irish favouring the Democrats - it would make total sense for Fox News to slam the Irish and the topic the Burkes want to talk about is just so current right now

The WRC is an independent statutory body.

Everyone who feels entitled or wronged can take a case.

What Twitter did was a blatant breach of Irish Employment laws, it is a clear a case as one can get. Unless you would like to articulate why you think Twitter did not breach the mans rights?

Also when you say it is "political", what do you actually mean. Please be specific.
