    Ah well.

Lucky last week but should have finished the game in 90 minutes tonight. Gotta take your chances.

No complaints, better side over the 2 legs won. Disappointing.

crazy Gakpo wasn’t the second taker

Jones spent his entire run up staring at the spot he was gonna put it lol.

Ah well. We take it on the chin and have a rather nice consolation in waiting.

Fair play Arne and the squad - gave it a great go.

    Love LFC.

Two mediocre penalties, probably the one thing Allison is less than super elite at.

We’ll have a happy ending this season anyway.

Can’t fault the players tonight. We played well but that PSG team is the best I’ve seen them in donkeys years

It's a shame to lose on pens after such an impressive start to the campaign but such is life. Well done psg for being the better team over both legs. Hopefully we can secure the league and I won't care about missing out here.

2 of the best 3 teams in Europe but we didn't take our chances

Thought we did enough 2nd half to win it but not to be. Players are wrecked.

win the league and win the cup and we’ll be alright.

PSG are very good, best team we’ve played this season by a mile. Probably a better side than us overall.

They bossed 2nd half of extra time, we looked shot then. I wasn't confident for penalties at all. Jones was bad when he came on, unfortunately a bad sub from Slot. Cost us the momentum. Nunez 2nd on penalties , a bad call too. Disappointing, but fair play to PSG a quality side.

While they played well again they didn't have a dangerous shot until extra time that Ali saved and are through due to scoring from another balls up by us at the back

Silver lining is more rest time to finish off the PL.

But it rankles that we topped the group stage and ended up playing one of the best teams in Europe

This, what a balls to go out but no shame in losing to that PSG team. What a draw to get after topping the league section!

    Psg deserved it.

We were poor in front of goal again. Mo well beaten twice by mendes.

Couldn't have gone much worse with a cup final this weekend. Extra time to tire them. Disappointing loss. 2 injuries in trent and ibou where we have little to no cover.

Disappointing to go out but they can have no complaints

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,399 ✭✭✭dogbert27

Or Elliott for second penalty taker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 787 ✭✭✭Rugbyf565

Atleast arsenal and Madrid have to play each other. My only wish is for neither of them winning it. Wouldn’t mind if PSG do, at least they play nice football and have a likeable manager.

Bright side for us is that there’s less games for us to play, just focus on getting our PL wins.

We can't have much complaints over the 2 legs. PSG was simple assume in spells. I thought we played very well in that 2nd half though. Just couldn't grab that goal.

Get the cup next week and the league in a few weeks - officially - and it won't have been too awful of a season.

I gotta say Nunez going second was crazy. Hes so flaky.

Lesson learned for next year. No need to go all out for 1st position in the league stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,410 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Hammered in France last week but the better team tonight. PSG better over both legs overall and they deserved to go through.

If they keep that team together they'll be challenging for the CL for the next few years. Some super young players there in Doue, Zaire Emery, Mendes, Barcola and Neves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,744 ✭✭✭Thud

Nunez was never going to score. Win Sunday and then wrap up the league and this will all be forgotten

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,424 ✭✭✭antimatterx

It's funny we look so good in the league and yet there's so many areas for improvement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,424 ✭✭✭antimatterx

It won't be. The season is basically over.

Credit to them they are a far better team now than the soft team they were few years back, and that's from only seen the 1st game only saw the goal this evening so can't really comment on tonight's game, but just got a text from a mate who watched tonight's game and he said liverpool tore apart again tonight true or not I don't know.

  • Administrators Posts: 55,060 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

PSG would probably win the PL if they were in it. If we’re honest they are better than us and we’re the best team the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 787 ✭✭✭Rugbyf565

pretty damning for the ‘new champions league format’ that they’ve managed to put the two best teams together so early in the last 16, as opposed to what should have been a semi-final/final game today.
