Day before the festival and scarcely a mention of it here seems to suggest that this once very active forum is almost dead, but setting up a thread for Day 1 of Cheltenham 2025 in any case.

Constitution Hill vs Brighterdaysahead? Will WPM and the Riccis be justified in sending Lossiemouth to the Mares’? Post your winners below…

Think Majborough is the only bomb proof shortie tomorrow. Constitution Hill off the bridle for the first time but wins by 4 ridden out. Would love to see him absolutely hose up though. Like Karbau at a price in the Supreme looked classy and the yard seem to like him. Ultima is a dartboard job but The changing man is surely a solid e/w, always seems to run his race.

Best of luck everyone with whatever you go with. Would be nice to get a good discussion going on here over the week, used to be a great forum.

1.20 Have Workahead & Irancy ap

    Workahead gone very short now.

2.00 such a pity Sir Gino isn't at the festival. Think Majborough is a decent price still!

3.20 Gala Marcau, her form isn't far off the rest of the field, at a massive price. Has finished close to Lossiemouth previously

4.00 Gone with the mare at 5/2

    4.40 Teriferma

    5.20 Gericault roque

    1:20: Kopek Des Bordes 1/1

    2:00: Majborough 8/15

    2:40: Frero Banbou 50/1 e/w

    3:20: Jade De Grugy 11/2

    4:00: Brighterdaysahead 2/1

    4:40: Quantock Hills 18/1 e/w

    5:20: Haiti Couleurs 4/1

Keeping it simple in the opening two races and hoping it will be a good start for favourite-backers. Kopek/Maj double will be my play here.

2:40: At 50/1 one is reaching for something, it goes without saying. However, FRERO BANBOU has often been there or thereabouts for big handicaps in his career. At ten, he has shown signs this season that he retains some ability, and while being more known as a two-miler, he won over 2m7f in November, beating The Changing Man in the process by 1 1/2 lengths. Now, this could be the equivalent of a students' union selection, but I am willing to take a stab each way at a crazy price!

3:20: Lossiemouth will be very hard to beat if on top form, but with not much value in her price and the slight question over her fall last time out, I am going to side with the WPM second string and potentially top-class JADE DE GRUGY in what should be an intriguing contest.

4:00: Again, at the current prices, I'm marignally siding with the contender, BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD, in what will be more of a race to watch for me than from a big betting race. And what a race it promises to be!

4:40: Wide open as always but in looking for something with a bit of juice in the price, QUANTOCK HILLS stood out at 18s. C&D dead heat winner in December, his form ties in with Total Look and by extention a few more horses here towards the top end of the maket. While there may be a suspicion that a few of these have a bit more in hand, I am willing to take the chance that this selection has palce claims at the very least.

5:20: Favourites have had a good record here in recent years. And while now a handicap, it has hard to knock HAITI COULEURS form coming into this, and I feel he is a strong favourite.

    14.50: Katate Dori 7/1

    15.30: Lossiemouth

    16.00: Constitution Hill

    Two single e/ws:

    13.20: Irancy 14/1

    17.20: Stuzzikini 25/1

    Look forward to it now

    rooming Coolio ew 1.20

    Malina Girl ew 2.40

Liam Swagger4.40 (days best ew at a big price) Solar Drive small ew 4.40 no point in giving my opinion on the few short ones today other than saying I will not be involved in those races.

I will pay attention to James Owen’s horses for the week.

Can't see the short price Mullins horse win the 1.20.

With sky bet, backed either workahead or William munny winning at 7/2.

I think punters should boycott Boyle Sports. They are always pricing horses much shorter than any of the English companies, sometimes as much as 3 points. They have little or no competition in Ireland. I check their prices on At The Races and my point is borne out.
