Clearing my hotmail inbox from spam

I had a nice email from a spammer trying to blackmail me into (whatever) and that they have hacked the email password etc etc.

The upshot is that they sporadically send me thousands of emails ("message undeliverable ") that I have to delete painfully 50 at a time.

It Is a hotmail account.Is there a way to do this more efficiently?

I don't want to change the password unless I have to.

That's not what's happening. Your email address is being falsified as the sender on a spam run, so you get the bounced message undeliverables back.

There's nothing to indicate your account is compromised and changing your password will do nothing whatsoever.

Changing the password is the easiest way to sort the problem. Why would you not want to change it if it saves you all this hassle?

Well I anticipate that if they hacked my password they will probably hack it again since I hate setting difficult passwords.(I do have a few difficult ones I could press into service again -the old eircom.net password for example)

There Is no sensitive information in those emails but if their disruption is on a loop I suppose I may have to do something.

Good Idea.A bit of a generic subject line though .

It can be useful if one of your own emails doesn't get through(I would have to search for the notification in the trash folder)

and then spam them out to catch the few that re-use passwords or never change them

Always have a unique, strong password for each site.

You should look into using as Password Manager.

Download duckduck.com as your browser and use their email spam blocker.It might work after the fact of your email being hacked.Change p/w
