Is that the punishment for treason these days, we'll make you a bit poorer. I always thought treason was considered worse than murder and they'd fry you for stealing a snickers in some american states.

The doctors wheeled Trump out of his room to get a CT scan for a possible concussion. The test came back clean, and Trump wanted the records.

"Can you give me a copy of these?" Trump asked a nurse. "Because I want to make sure I can show reporters that my cognitive function is 100 percent. You can’t say the same about Joe Biden."

"We can put it on a CD for you," the nurse said.

"OK," he said. "We'll release that at a later date."

How can you not like this guy?

“Tesla Takedown” is the term I believe - plenty of anti- Tesla activity happening on the ground at Tesla dealers

I'd guess that maybe he expected this. He might not like it, especially if an implosion of Tesla's value will torpedeo his perceived net-worth to a fraction of what it was in a historically short period of time. Remember, Tesla's stock is rediculously overvalued compared to what the company is actually worth.

I suspect that is why he wanted an insane $40 billion bonus payment, that would be actual cash in his hand as opposed to him loaning money against the value of Tesla stocks. I suspect DOGE is also part of this. A way to ensure that tax money still goes to him by way of Starlink and SpaceX. He won't be nearly as wealthy as he was, but he'll still be rich and if he can somehow avoid pissing off Donnie too much (which I doubt he'll manage long term) then he's also got some clout & power.

I'm sure however that his ego isn't taking the potential collapse of Tesla very well. It is the essentially the world giving him the middle finger, and I guess that must suck for him. I'll be certain to unpack the following to play a little song for him, should that happen:

The calls for ethnic cleansing, defunding vital medical treatments, being the bitch of oligarchs and throwing Ukraine to the wolves. Honestly incredibly easy to not like the man and I've only given a handful of reasons.

This is a video of Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn) speaking in the US Senate about the corruption in the first six weeks of Trump's reign. He give a list of 20 examples of corruption, they have come so thick and fast that some have not even really registered in news or on-line commentary.

They range from money laundering to handing out government contracts to promoting Trump hats in the Oval Office. You could wish that product placement were the most egregious of his offences, sadly it is largely irrelevant compared with other activities.

The first six minutes is an introduction that is relevant, but you can skip straight to his examples at 6.30. From the transcript:

6:30we're going to start on January 17th on6:32January 17th Trump launches the meme6:35coin this is maybe the most corrupt of6:38all the acts because what is the mem6:39coin the mem coin is essentially a6:42mechanism by which Russian oligarchs or6:46corporate CEOs can literally send money6:49privately directly to Donald Trump

In this current climate id happily rate that a successful visit - hopefully MM has the cop on to keep things neutral in front of the cameras - sound bytes such as “we have much more in common than we have differences” and “good friends often have disagreements but the strength of the friendship always overcomes these differences” sort of stuff

I'm fairly sure that I read Michigan and Pennsylvania would be affected. They voted red last time, so they can go swivel and sit in the dark for a while. A good time to think about what they've done.

You're not getting that their best sellig car has just been launched, you can't even buy one here yet. What you've done is use 2mts data during a model change over to support a position which is nothing but goverment propaganda. Let's look at the figures for Q3/Q4 before claiming the sky is falling. If you want a new model Y in germany you can't buy one, hence sales slup. The old model was the best selling EV worldwide in 2024. The new one should do just as well when it becomes easily available.

You've referred to Irish and UK stats. I've pointed out that their sales have plummeted drastically globally. And that can't be explained away as everyone waiting for the new model. January and February sales are also key indicators. You've also moved the goal posts, you were happy to use Irish and UK Tesla sales for January and February originally. 😂

Fyi, I went electric a year back and intentionally avoided Tesla because of Musk. And that was before he started to offer threats of exiting NATO etc. Europe isn't a maga fan and is being threatened with tariffs as well... So all that works against the brand. On top of that, a far bigger EV market in contrast to five years ago. Consumers have lots of options.

Wow, Virtue signalling with a car, you must get the rage when one passes you out. 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,353 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Given the way the brand has gone a year later, not the worst idea. Taking one brand out of my options when there's loads of options isn't that big a deal. Also telling you've not actually addressed any of my points. Tesla are already having their worst sales years in years.... And I can't see it changing.

Also in relation to government propaganda, the sales figures are from individual markets. It's not from a government beyond the fact governments making car registrations publicly available. What's the propaganda exactly?

"You’re believing the propaganda that we know the dems paid for"

Are the democrats who paid for the propaganda in the room with us right now?

I don't think I remember seeing so swift a currency drop betwixt OECD parings since the Brexit vote announcement, falling from 1.04 to possibly 1.10 by the end of today.

The whole Brexit fantasy was that EU membership was restricting the UK from a bigger better global market, and now Trump is trying to coerce the global economy to align to MAGA.

I think a lot of those who voted for him could benefit from a CT scan...

Maybe that could be sorted for them, as soon as Trump's concept of a health plan is finalised....

Interesting, can you provide some links for this?

A mate is very pro Tesla and he was telling me about the massive reduction in sales and I want to show him he is wrong.

He wants to stop the killing, what issue have you with that. Standing with Ukraine but not actually putting any skin in the game is not standing with Ukraine. The man wants peace you need to give him a break and before you say it Russian is not going to try and conquer europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,360 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

Go into Tela or even go to Tesla Germany and try and order a Y. You can have one in June, so let's look at the figures later in the year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭yagan

If he wants to stop the killing then he'd be onboard with kicking Russia out of Ukraine. Where do you think all the refugees came from?

Slow supply does not automatically mean high demand.

Great and all as these videos may be- Bernie Sanders made a 26 minute video the other day too - unfortunately they’re just too long too factual and probably seen as too boring to engage the current American electorate in the main - while the videos are admirable and most likely accurate in their criticisms , my question is, who’s really watching them? I think it’s a case of preaching to the converted - they probably need a tik-tok style edit to bring them to less than a minute with all the key points brought out in that time and maybe they’ll start to reach a wider electorate

And my point remains, Tesla sales in Germany are down 70% that isn't because of everyone waiting for the latest model. I'd also suspect the likes of BYD will continue to outperform Tesla. I guess at least you've admitted Ireland and the UK are outliers.

Hmm, cutting off Ukrainian intelligence is actively increasing killing. The man doesn't give a damn about peace. If he did, he wouldn't be calling for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. He wouldn't be refusing to condemn the invasion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,752 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

He doesn't give a damn about peace. The mess he left Afghanistan in was not peace.

His threats to Gaza and Palestinians are not about peace. They are backing the Israel position.

If he wanted peace in Ukraine, he could provide real security guarantees and guarantee peace of a sovereign Ukraine.
He doesn't want peace, he wants surrender, and he doesn't give a damn what Russia does to a surrendered Ukraine.
It is not peace if people aren't living in safety and security, if they are living at risk of atrocities like Bucha.

Give him a break? He is a racist and a rapist, who in the election campaign whipped up racial hatred with race baiting drivel about immigrants eating pets.

He talks about annexing Greenland - territory of an ally.

He talks about making Canada a 51st state - an ally.

That is not a man of peace.

Looks like party central in some parts of it at the moment. Lots chose to stay, the students not from Ukraine came here in their droves, they were't Ukranina just happened to be studying there at the time, It was one of the cheapest places to go become a doctor. Not all but a lot are migrants looking for work.

Stopping the killing and forcing Russia to retreat will result in more killing. He just want it to stop, straight away.
