Celebrating 1-1 from a penalty, 20 mins to go with a Poznan is very cringe. Hope we get a winner

Utter bullshit*t decision! Something of nothing. And another ultra slow motion replay. I was all for VAR, but the powers that be in the game have ended up ruining football with it.

Ah, he's allowed to be pissed off if he's taken off, he's hardly going to be smiling on the bench

Every long ball should be to zirzkee now against their 28 he is tiny compared to him

Worrying that Dorgu appears to get worse with each game, slowly adapting to the well below average level we see at a team level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,819 ✭✭✭DellyBelly

    Dorgu's touch is poor enough....

I reckon Amorim et all see Dorgu as the 'backup LWB/Right Winger' next Season and they will be on the lookout for an experienced LWB in the Summer.

Unfortunately Shaw and Martinez more or less can't be counted as options given their injury histories🤕…….

    Well that was fairly boring.

Not great performance, but good result.

Good game by onana tonight claimed lots of crosses first half and a couple of good saves in the 2nd half.

Disappointing result but we probably would have taken it pre game.

We started to panic (as usual) when they scored but up till then we were very comfortable. Should have been 1 or 2 up at HT. All to play for in the return leg.

Just one night we could have done with rub of the green with VAR, to make up for all the horror shows in the league. Alas, not to be.

Fragility post conceding not unexpected but remains problematic

Decent result and solid performance. The team just has absolutely no goals in it. I’d be targeting three attackers all to start as a priority over all else this summer.

    3x ST/10 options

    CM

    RWB

    In that order for me.

The more I watch Garnacho the more Im disliking him..when he gets the ball it should be exciting as he has that ability but his choices are generally poor. Not sure why but lately it seems he can get no power in his shots..then bites his jersey and looks to the bench as if hes hard done by but its his ownb doing...cash in on him

it was highlighted before we signed him that he wasn't great at passing. i think his only really good stat is carrying the ball.

so i'll agree with the big easy that we need to be technically proficient. however we also need to improve physically.

as more time passes, the more i'm inclined to agree.

Arsenal next, not to sure we’ll get 10% of the chances we did tonight.

Gut feeling is we’ll pay for for not taking those chances tonight when we play Sociedad next week at OT.

    Hope I’m wrong

I'd be resting players like Yoro for the arsenal game, regardless of result it's won't impact our season so the eyes have to be on the second leg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,089 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

I couldnt watch that match but im pretty happy with the result as I thought we'd in in trouble and to even hear we should've of won, gives me encouragement for the 2nd leg

I wonder if we'll hold Ugarte back from the arsenal game even if he is fit, to have him sharp for the la real game.

Its a huge issue in general.

We can't afford to not play zirkzee, hojlund or garnacho in any match at the moment. Or dalot. Or mazraoui. Or Bruno.

Zero depth, and the players are dying on their feet.

To me it's clear he's anxious, he's trying to adjust his style and is unsure when to shoot or pass as a result.

He can only improve as he continues to learn his role and what RA is looking for from him.

We'll be hard pressed to find better in the market imo

I know it's a big game and you can't send the kids out to the wolves but I hope the manger rests as many players as possible.

Bruno badly needs a rest, if ugarte is back for the 2nd leg, play cas and collyer, Erikson at 10. Not sure about obi but Hojund himself good do with a game off.

Play linderoff and if there is any way to give dalot a rest I would but I just can't see how

I get the anxiety in learning a new role..impressing a new manager etc but his body language, behaviour with social media and his decision making which is glory hunting most times just doesnt bode well

I'd love to know how people say garnacho was sulking he wasn't happy coming off for sure but he didn't play particularly well should he be happy coming off. We get one shot of him on the bench looking whatever but who knows what he was like on the bench the rest of the time maybe he was chatting a bit smiling, people need to be aware TNT are always trying to feed them talking points and coming off at full time most of our players weren't happy,Hojund had much a similar look to granacho as did a few other.

We talk about pogba, lingard etc lowering standards in the past dancing after games we lost, now garnacho is too unhappy sulking, he is a young lad not having a great season, generally trying his best effort wise and half the fan base seems to have turned on him, most of which seems to have happened over unfounded social media stuff about him leaking.

He is not beyond critisism but a lot of what we see isn't based on his football which has been improving (little by little)

I missed this bit as I was in work.

What did Dalot do in the end after the above?

I'm thinking in that pic, he didnt see Hojlund, but Dalot should be going in towards the keeper after that touch and look up.

Like he should know if if he doesn't see Hojlund in that second, a simple square ball would find someone as it's hardly going to be a empty box.

A straight ball between the edge of the box and peno spot and Hojlund would of taken that.
