      A “musician” rang in saying he was robbed in Dublin City Center on his way to buy a rare flute from a dealer and now wouldn’t be able to purchase but he reported the “theft” to the gardai and set up a GoFundMe to raise the €5000 as otherwgsevtge flute would fall into the hands of a collector. This was in June. The GFM stayed up till many badge Christmas and the amount required went up to €5500. I reckon it was a guy wanting to get others to buy a new flute for him. Classic scam Tactics as well like the flute was needed quickly to prevent it falling into the wrong hands etc.

      It was at it's height in the 80s. I collected the full lot and dumped them when I moved out of home! :( :(

      I hope he covers the piano scam. I work in a charity and we got an email last December re the donation of a piano. We'd have no use for one at all!

      I can't remember if it's been discussed before but I really wish they would do away with having a piano in public places like train stations and airports. Sure it can be nice if someone can actually play but anytime I'm in earshot its some kid plinking plonking random keys.
