I think it was planned.

Well, something does have to be done for future events like this.

I think we've learned that:

1. Trees near power lines and critical infrastructure aren't good. And while we knew this already the general guidelines on it haven't been enforced as they should. Either these regulations be enforced and/or we move some of the network underground - the former probably the most realistic.
2. Our water distribution network needs some backup power options and while 1 above would assist with primary power maintenance at reservoirs etc something else is needed
3. Our local response plans, if the exist, rely heavily on volunteers opening up community facilities and sports facilities. The aren't very organised and perhaps more work needs to go into planning here.
4. People need to take some responsibility for their own situation if they deem needed. A gas backup hob, some form of backup heating and perhaps a small amount of water onsite in the event of events such as this.

However 1 being implement properly will save a lot of people/councils/Irish Water from having to worry too much about 2, 3 and 4 so much.

The majority of power issues were caused by interference with the lines from what I could see, there are only so many staff that can look to fix these isssues so the more damace done the longer it will take to bring it all back online.

Did the storm blow in a load of immigrants through these borders? Who planned the storm?

My town hasn't been destroyed, can you give us a list of what towns and villages have been destroyed?

It's all planned. The storm, everything.

I don't have a list, but the plan is to wreck all towns and villages by destroying all tourism, tents, ugly buildings, etc.
