Best/worst accent

I admit I love a proper Dub accent. I'm talking the ultimate in North Inner City howiyas. My favourite though would be a Derry accent but I can't stand that Monagan/Cavan/Dundalk area accent. It's utterly horrific.

Abroad I had a thing with a woman who was on exchange from a place called Jackson in Tennessee, and she had a Dixie accent which I know isn't to everyone's taste but I loved it. As for the worst - that Birmingham/midlands UK accent is brutal.

RP = Received Pronunciation. Old school BBC English - quite 'posh' and slightly clipped diction. Compare with Estuary English which has become (almost standard) English in the southern half of England

A proper towny Wexford accent is painful. It's like they're singing through their noses all the time.

yeah that greater Birmingham one isn't great, not really a fan of the west country one either in england.

& a strong Dutch or German accent speaking in English doesn't sound good.

Hard disagree on Dutch personally! I like it.

Soft Galway / Soft Mayo / Soft Sligo / Soft Donegal - probably the best IMO.

Worst is Cavan/Louth/Wexford - and to be honest I don't think any of the Dublin accents are great for various reasons so wouldn't be surprised if they get lots of mentions

Theres a of the Dub accent with Wexford town.

Strong northern Ireland accent it sounds aggressive. Terry wogan had a nice accent I think it's a slight Irish accent sort of middle class not from any particular area.

The worst abroad is that inner city London accent that's developed over the past 25 years, blud.

The film 'Attack the Block' is a good example of this accent innit?

Carlow and offaly. It can vary from town to town in Ireland. Where im from I could tell if someone is from a village maybe 10k away from my town town with the accent .

I like a soft northern accent .
