What type of ladder for narrow access to side of building?

hi, I’m trying to paint the side of my two story house. Problem is, we have a shed on the side of the house meaning we have 0.71 meters between the side of the house and the shed. The angle for a traditional ladder is practically vertical and not safe when positioned to reach the second floor roof height. Not safe… any ideas? Hiring a scissors lift isn’t on the cards as the narrowest I can rent is .81 meters.

Hi, you might need scaffolding as there isn't really a way if you can't set a ladder at the recommended angle. Would a long painting pole work otherwise?

Post a photo showing the layout and we might have some ideas.

Could you not throw a sheet of ply on the shed roof and position the ladder off that, you could screw a couple of 2 X 1's onto it to prevent the ladder from slipping

Is a ridiculously long roller an option? Can you stand on the shed roof?

Can you put scaffolding over the shed? You'd have it up in a couple of hours.

Hi, where could I get scaffolding for a project like this? I've never hired scaffolding? I'm not confident putting the ladder on top of the shed roof.

I've attached a pic to give you an idea of the width I have to play with. Sorry its a grainy snip from a security camera but it shows you how much space I've got at the side of the house

Just make sure you have made out your will before you adopt this approach.

I hired a Tower once that was narrow enough to fit between 2 houses.

    1.8M x 0.7M
