Is there any good (and reasonably priced) Irish companies/etc. giving advice on how to use artificial intelligence and similar technology in a business setting?

Found www.getstartedai.com/ and also lumagraph.ie but don't know much about them.

I would start by reading the AI playbook by a guy called Eric siegal. It focuses mostly on machine learning (which is just one part of AI) but it outlines a good approach at least for assessing a problem and getting your systems and data inplace to apply AI technology.

If it's just general productivity I'd just watch a few youtube videos and start using Microsoft copilot and/or chatgpt.

In fact, maybe go one better and log on to chatgpt/Google gemini and start asking questions. They might give as good an answer as any AI consultant.

I asked gemini to summarise the book I mentioned above and it came up with this:

Eric Siegel's "The AI Playbook" focuses on the practical application of machine learning in business, addressing the common problem of AI projects failing to deploy and deliver value. Here's a summary of its key points:

    • Focus on Deployment:
      • The book emphasizes that successful AI implementation is not just about having sophisticated algorithms, but about effectively deploying them into real-world business operations.
      • It provides a "gold-standard, six-step practice" for guiding machine learning projects from conception to deployment.
    • Bridging the Gap:
      • "The AI Playbook" aims to bridge the gap between data professionals and business professionals, fostering better collaboration.
      • It upskills business professionals with essential, non-technical knowledge, enabling them to actively participate in AI projects.
    • Practical Approach:
      • The book uses real-world case studies and examples, including those from companies like UPS and FICO, to illustrate its principles.
      • It offers a pragmatic approach, focusing on achieving tangible business results.
    • BizML Framework:
      • The book presents the "bizML" concept, which places deployment and business value at the core of machine learning and AI projects.
    • Addressing AI's Challenges:
      • It tackles the challenges of AI deployment, providing a structured framework to overcome common obstacles.
      • It helps to cut through the hype surrounding AI and provides concrete steps for successful implementation.
    • Key focus on Machine Learning:
      • The book clarifies that when it uses the term AI, that it is specifically dealing with Machine Learning, and the practical application of that technology within buisness.

In essence, "The AI Playbook" is a practical guide for businesses looking to effectively leverage machine learning, emphasizing the importance of deployment and collaboration.

A lot of the Local Enterprise Offices have low cost or free training on AI, mainly from a marketing perspective.

Those are great shout outs thanks. I think companies like Intercom, Lumagraph, KPMG, and PwC are all well and good to get work commissioned, but this will help me smell out what is actually applicable in my case.
