🤔 Aha, makes perfect sense. Anyone taking bets on Trump meeting Putin somewhere and then saying Ukraine are the problem refusing peace?

And thats what you took from a shocking display of ignorance and a sad moment in the history of the world .

A complete embarrassment honestly. Even the nazi's had decorum at official level. That was like a couple of frats hazing a new pledge. "Well you didnt say thank you today!"

It's much worse than that. The United States since 1945 has spent trillions of dollars projecting soft power, establishing institutions and building alliances. It's not often one sees the fruits of that kind of investment just casually disregarded.

This must be the biggest troll comment I've ever read on here and that's saying something.

It's now time for Europe -the EU + the others- to steel themselves and step up to the plate.

Every available piece of offensive and defensive weaponry must be fast forwarded to Ukraine to try to stem the Russian advance or the game is well and truly up.

In addition -can the EU ,say, not sign an agreement with Zelensky about mineral rights and send personnel in to Ukraine to plan for the whole extraction project thereby hopefully forestalling any significant Russian attacks on areas where soldiers from NATO countries are in position as security guarantors ( although not as a formally designated NATO contingent.)

A complete set up by Trump and Putin " dressing down " someone who to most of the thinking free world is a hero.

Vance accusing Zelensky of disrespect by litigating this in front of the media , when tat was their decision . What did they expect him to shut up take whatever they threw at him and sign a deal in front of the press ?!

I just hope this mobilises the say-nothing Republicans to come out against Trump .

It certainly puts it front and central to Europe to push on into more support for Ukraine and maybe Canada and Australia .just heard Linden Graham Republican Senator talking about Zelensky as if it was all his fault !

Trump's level of stupidity and ignorance was completely exposed today. He didn't have a clue about the Crimea invasion in 2014.

And Vance comes across as a dumb 5 year old.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

I honestly am struggling to believe this is where we are in 2025. Like, if I woke up in the morning and realised it was just a nightmare I'd be dwelling on it and what might have caused it for weeks.

    We are truly fucked

Including going along with Trumps plan that what was best for Ukraine was allowing Russia to hold on to the Ukrainian territory it had seized during its two invasions?

I doubt very much if Trump would last long as president were he to agree to the same happen the US. The man on the ground would have the finger on his nations pulse.

Don't forget what Musk wore. If you are going to be helping Donald and his cronies make money you can wear what you want in the Oval office.

Does the South African immigrant who practically lives in the Oval Office get challenged when he turns up every day in a stupid tshirt and peaked cap?

Just to put in perspective the difference in character and intellect between Zelensky and Trump.
I want you to imagine Trump being bullied on live tv by two Ukrainian leaders, in Ukrainian and try to imagine the fight he would put up. Zelensky kind of shamed them by just being honest.

Trump is fuming only because he sees his chances of getting a Nobel peace prize gone

You think he'd berate his Saudi friends for the same crime?

    From CNN

"A member of Russia’s state-owned news agency gained access to the Oval Office on Friday to cover President Trump’s sit-down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — even as the AP and Reuters were barred from the high-level meeting…. A correspondent for TASS, a Russian state media organization, was among a group of hand-picked pool reporters present in the Oval Office for the leaders’ meeting, which is part of the US’ efforts to end Russia’s war in Ukraine."

Disgraceful from the USA administration all round

The mad thing is, I thought the average yank would respect the hell out of a war-time president sticking to the front line given how only Russia and North Korea are more patriotic of their military.

    No bone spurs with Zelenskyy.

He could have turned up in tattered rags and it still would have been no excuse to treat him that way.

Another seismic shift though in the world order happened today. For the USD to be considered a safe haven currency it has to be backed up with predictable politics.

Yes it's like we are living in a movie called how the West Was Won ..by Russia !

Trump can barely construct sentences and keeps playing the victim. Utter disgrace.

The really interesting thing was when Zelensky said that the US would feel Russia's influence in the future……It really set Trump off, almost as if he already knows what that influence feels like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,938 ✭✭✭✭walshb

I never said he deserved to be treated that way. Trump’s behaviour was appalling.

    -stoping trump is easy .
    - a trade agreement between the aggrieved countries . Canada, Europe , Mexico. China , the list is long. This would place America in a very poor economic position .

    - Europe needs to stop this war. Full stop another 500 billion would but Russia in economic turmoil feeding this war . Leading it to a very deep depression.

It is ridiculous what is allowed in a democratic country as the USA . That they allow this to unfold . America should be ashamed. But I think we’re past this stage already.
