    Hi,

I was just offered the above contract for €10 a month for 12 months. The Data is capped at 10Mbs, but I am thinking of signing up my son as i believe it is better the clear mobile except for the 12 months contract.

One issue is that the contract is €15 a month with a €5 discount as I am a broadband customer. My broadband contract in up in 3 months and I am on a good price for this (€30 a month). Would it be harder to renegotiate a good price next time if I have a mobile contract tied into the broadband.

Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat and how did it work out with the contacts expiring at different times?

I got a text message. I called the sales team. It is not online but I think it is the standard SIM only plan as when i called he said that is was 12 month contract, unlimited calls and text and 100 internationl minutes. He also mentioned the 10Mbs speed cap. He said it was €15 but a €5 discount for broadband customers.

You're right, the two plans won't be in synch. I'd wait for contact renewal date, shop around and if it still a good plan, include mobile at that point.

I've just renewed my broadband with Sky, moving from Eir. I added two mobiles in with that. Although sky mobiles are not in a bundle with the broadband, it made sense to me to move to them too.

The terms of the plans are here:

    https://n.vodafone.ie/content/dam/gowingmyself/pdfs/terms/bill-pay/vodafone-red-unlimited-sim%20only-15-after-dec13-2024.pdf

Essentially, you get the discount so long as you have broadband but it does not recontract the broadband itself.

If you cancel the broadband then you lose the discount but you're still bound to the 12-month term of the mobile plan at the now full rate (€35 a month).

Supposedly Clear have removed the previous 5Mb cap and introduced 5G and WiFi Calling although a few on here and elsewhere who have signed up since it was removed are still finding it is in place with customer care making vague promises that they are working on removing it.

Don't go with Clearmobile they are misleading customers with 5g. speed cap of 5mbps still exits. see the below link about clearmobile

In 2023, When my Vodafone Home broadband contract last ended. Vodafone sent me an email to say that they were obliged under EU regulations to offer me the same service at the same price on rolling 30 day contract.

They were also obliged to also offer me a new service. The new service had the clause that adds in the annual inflation every March/April and tacks on another 2% for them for good luck.

So naturally I let the contract expire. This has meant that indefinitely since 2023, the price has stayed the same at 45 quid and no increases at all.

Check your contract terms, you could have similar!

€45 for a rolling SIMO? That is extremely overpriced! You can get the eir SIMO for €14.99 instore or €9.99 if you have their broadband! The only difference is 45GB in the EU

I read it as Broadband not SIMO, no not on thread topic

I think the original topic relates to coupling a sim only contract with broadband contract which is due/may be cancelled by the OP. The information is relevant in that respect
