    Hey all,

I have a cz 457,about a year old,had a wildcat whisper on,shot great with eley subs. Anyway i sold the whisper (needed some cash)and bought a new compact mod an rcc. Went out today to try the zero. Shots all over the place. Up to 3 inches out, down and to right.

So fired about 30 thinking since new mod might need to settle. So decided to adjust scope. Got ok groups eventually, around inch and quarter, at 50 yards with no wind. It was getting well under an inch with the other mod.

    Anyway question.

Will the new mod settle down further? Have about 60 down it now. Do ye think that maybe another ammo might be better with this new mod, or should it make no difference since the gun shot great with the other mod and eley subs?

Maybe this mod does not like the eley subs, if that's possible! Gun shoots great without mod on, but a bit loud for where i shoot.

Any advise welcome if ye have the foggiest what I'm on about 😁

What has happened is you have changed the harmonics of your barrel by changing the mod.

You will now need to find a different choice of ammo to bring it back to those tight groups.

By coincidence I was in Midlands today with my 10/22 and I've switched from the RCC to the Whisper. Actually for me it's the reverse with performance. The new Whisper is giving tighter groups than I had with the RCC. That's with Eley subs and with Norma Tac. Barrel harmonics for sure although it's worked out in my favour this time I suppose.

You could play around with the action torque settings to see if the pulls in the groups.

First they came for the socialists...
