I've often heard this idle speculation that we are perhaps living in some kind simulation, but this video posted by Trump gives me an even weirder idle speculation:- that we're living inside an Aphex Twin music video.

    Oh I know that .

The US Oil industry already has enough drilling licences on hand to keep them occupied for decades and they aren't going to use those , let alone new ones that Trump might approve. Less oil means higher prices.

But he's also going to gut environmental protection laws and oversight while he's at it.

So any money the Drilling/Mining companies are spending today on protecting the environment in their current work will simply stop and that money will go to Share holders while the locals get poisoned ground water and failed crops.

Just because Trump says 'drill baby drill' doesn't mean its actually going to happen, or even that he anticipated it would happen. Its just a meme for the followers. They will have no idea whether any additional drilling has happened, but they will be 'right on' about Trump saying it. Like many other things, the wall, prices going down, tax cuts, they just need to hear and believe.

Way more than half. Teslas tend to sell best in the main cities and in states like California which in the main are staunchly Democrat. Hillbilly Maga types detest electric and tend to drive F150's or Dodge trucks. Even Trump hates anything that doesn't burn oil. Musk doesn't care about the environment or the Planet. He cares about money and starting a colony on Mars, so he can send his kind of people there and leave the untermensch to scrounge in the scorched earth.

My thinking was more down to AI still being stupid, so it put beards on some women.

And then Trump was so pleased looking at himself in it he didn't even notice he was posting a video with dancing bearded ladies.

Personally I thought it was a parody produced by someone against the idea to show how utterly ridiculous it was. Even had a fat Trump on a sunbed. Maybe I'm wrong but to me it looked like he reposted a video lampooning the very idea.

Their similarity to jihadists, complete with green hamas headbands, suggests it wasn't just an AI error.

Seems we might already be seeing the impact of Trump here. Pentagon have pulled out of their brand new facility in Dundalk , hopefully not a sign of things to come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,342 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Why were the Pentagon setting up a new facility in Ireland? Why do they have anything here at all in fact?

Not sure how much of this is confirmed but that Vance prick was going on about free speech not allowed in Romania because they cancelled elections due to Russian interface with this candidate as the forerunner. It really does seem like they're controlled by Russia now. And Israel.

Did he (or the people posting on his behalf) not realise that the AI Gaza video is completely taking the piss out of him and his excess?

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Hopefully the momentum of Tesla disgust will continue across Europe - while I might pity purchasers from a few years ago, anyone who bought in the last 6 months or so deserves to lose their shirt on their purchase

They specialise in decontamination of tools and instruments with Intel being a major customer. Unfortunately Intel seem to be slowing down at the moment and this is having a knock on effect.

I'm actually amazed this has not been in the media at all.

Hahaha and there was me wondering why the US Pentagon was setting up shop in Ireland 😂 thanks

The green is a muslim colour. So asking an AI to generate belly dancers might actually generate it.

Although to be clear, we're investing far too much time looking for hidden messages in a trump posted, AI generated, piece of drivel. :D

Jobs were only announced last year - is there anything online about this U turn?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,790 ✭✭✭✭Grayson

A quick search online shows that he was arrested as part of an investigation into campaign funds. I can't find any reference to the money or tickets.

However it does say that he reported in his election campaign that he spent Zero. Not a single penny paid to anyone. That's dodgy as hell.

So what are the odds Trump suggests the US buys Ireland leading up to St Patrick's day?

One thing I find very striking about the AI Gaza thing - apart from the very obvious sheer insanity of it all -

Is that it's all Trump. The American Flag doesn't appear anywhere. So when Trump talks about 'We'll take control of it' - he really does seem to think him, his family and companies will. Not America.

It'll be American money, American arms and possibly American troops to go get it, but it'll be Trump's afterwards. Golden Trump figurines, Trump statue, Trump balloons - not American flags, mini Statue of Liberties. All Trump's.

Edit: I mean, just to add. He's posting this stuff while American President, supposed to be representing their people, and yet his supporters with their MAGA hats on are lapping up Trump Gaza, nothing theere for America. Is so blatantly self aggrandising and for his personal benefit but no-one over there is calling him on it.

What could go wrong with billionaires buying and controlling media outlets?

    Jeff Bezos on Twitter:

I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning:I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages. We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others. There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job. I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity. I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction. I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void. Jeff

Get absolutely f*cked, you waste of oxygen.

Just a month into Trump 2.0 era, and he's made billionaires like Zuckerberg and Bezos fold like cheap suits and reveal their true colours with remarkable speed and lack of grace.

Bezos now comically telling Washington Post opinion writers to solely focus on 'personal liberties and free markets'. Parody-level stuff. Grim stuff for a storied newspaper and particularly ironic for a publiction that declared 'Democracy Dies in Darkness' not so long ago (a tagline that was silly and self-serious at the time, now reads like profound self-parody). But yet another reminder to never, ever rely on billionaires and corporations to 'do the right thing' in the face of illiberal rule.

Absolutely nothing which is what I find so strange , the facility was only a few weeks away from being finished and handed over.

Have heard nothing in the media about Intel either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,045 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Absolutely incredibly shocking stuff by Bezos. The current head of the opinion desk resigned in protest today.

We're on the path to an uprising/revolution of some sorts, we just don't know yet how long this path is.

I already don't use Amazon unless I have absolutely no option and end up using it maybe on average 1 time per year over the last few years, I hate the fact that I give him that much.

On a lighter note, but still depressing because it speaks to the sh*tshow we are in the middle of, this week Trump lambasted the signers of previous trade agreements with Canada and Mexico and said that Canada in particular is taking advantage of the US.

One of the primary trade deals in place between these countries is USMCA and this was signed in 2019. Anyone want to guess who was the American President who negotiated and signed that deal? Yep, Donald J Trump.

I suppose he is right now in saying it was an idiot who signed it.

Well there goes whatever was left of the once great Washington Post
"Democracy Dies in Darkness" and that darkness comes when you get bought and completely co-opted by a billionaire who has nobody to stop him

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

i dont get this "deal" at all…it just looks to me like every one is carving up Ukraine for themselves for pure profit…or am i missing something…?

"They gave me an impossible task, one which they said I wouldnt return from...."

"You are him…the one they call the "Baba Yaga"…

There's no end of pain that most Trump voters are willing to endure if they feel that 'the libs' are upset in the process. Billionaires getting tax breaks would probably fulfill that criteria.
