Any guide on how to do that earth/neutral bond? Is it actually necessary? Powers gone at the moment and could do with running an extension to the freezer

So first time looking at this, no power from grid.

Backup settings set and can see back up (bulb icon) on screen

    35% battery left

Sunny day but no solar production - is this the fireman switch thing blocking it?

I have selected off grid mode too which removed alarm light for no grid. Still no solar production though. I do have battery power for extension lead, with torch charging now

Since backup mode is the hot topic, My installer wired the house to run off the battery when the grid goes but I've never used it, and didn't need to this weekend thankfully. the instructions I was given was to flick a switch (see photo) when the grid was out and that would bring the battery into play. My invertor is currently set to selfuse mode, does this need to be set to backup before the outage in order to use the battery? (Will my invertor switch off or will it keep itself alive off the battery) also is fine to leave it in backup mode all the time?

It depends on how the system is wired. If fireman switch is on grid side of changeover then in power cut you'll only have battery back up and no new solar generation and the opposite is fireman switch is on house side of changeover.
Now this is where you'll get different answers/interpretations of ESB wiring rules - some will state only the first way of working is allowed and others will state the second is acceptable!

The first way has the advantage when power is cut by fireman they know its cut BUT my understanding is some inverters can use the backup port all the time for specific circuits and those circuits will be energised 24/7 as long as grid or battery power exists! Hence even cutting grid power fireman could still come across live circuits?
Mine is not like this so not 100% sure on this - mine backup goes to a whole house changeover switch so in power cut all power is cut everywhere unless I manually switch over.

It seems to be the case that fireman switch is between panel and inverter, i believe it is in the attic so it makes sense (the inverter is downstairs).

Bit annoying really as reduces a chunk of value prop of PV

I have a question I hope someone can help me with..

I've a Solis Hybrid inverter and two 48V pylontech us200 batteries. I bought the house with the system installed by the previous owner. There were issues with the install and that relationship soured so I've no real comeback with anyone.

I'm trying to configure the AC Backup to work during powercuts. I sourced a suitable connector and temporarily wired it to an extension cable and connected it. Going through the menus with 0010 pw I can enable the Backup and see it working with a lamp plugged into the extension lead. Killed the power to to the inverter and still good..

The other night the power went in bad weather but the Backup port was dead. My battery was at 19% so there might be an issue with the SOC and the Backup config.. I'll try figure that out, but here is what i saw during the outage.. the inverter was up, and going in to the Backup menu it was set to Disable when I previously set it to Enable.. does it flick between Enable and Disable based on battery SOC? Enabling it with Save & Send (with battery at 19%) I hear a relay click (which must be shutting it off?) and it reverts to Disable.. is this due to SOC or is there something else I'm missing?
