Playstation Plus discussion thread - Part deux

Would prefer to not have the days added, personally.

The 25% discount on BF, takes the sting out of the raising of prices a while back.

Someone on Reddit stated they asked support to end their subscription early, last year.

That is what i will attempt if this 5 days added, does not align with BF.

Is the BF discount only available for a day or two or is it a week or two?

As it seems (from this thread at least) Sony customer service hours are to be protected at all costs it could make sense for them to offer an opt out to those who want it well before Black Friday.

Come on. This isnt a "feature". Its an opt out to undo something Sony are about to apply to PS Plus subscriptions.

Are you saying cost Sony the extra money they will get from players who would have renewed during Black Friday? Wow! What about the initial cost to players?

And those people probably wouldn't appreciate it anyway.

This is getting a bit bizarre. Can we not inconvenience Sony at all here? Players are going to be inconvenienced. Is an opt out after the fact really not acceptable either?

Just looked it up, BF is 28th Nov this year. Was 29th last year and sale went from 22nd to 3rd, should give people an idea if they'll fall outside it this year. Mine expires the 22nd and even with 5 days, which I haven't gotten yet, gives me time to let it expire and get a new sub at 30% discount.

I get the annoyance, the sub is already expensive enough if all you're using it for is access to online, certainly not the stellar games each month.

An opt out and extra work just to accommodate players who are getting PS Plus on the cheap and are annoyed they might now have to pay the same as others who's deals expire on the other 351 days of the year? That's a little bit entitled to be fair.

It's not Sony's job to make sure that people can continue to get PS Plus on the cheap. This year's Black Friday deals might not even have a PS Plus offer. Or it might be limited to players who haven't taken a deal recently. Who knows. But it's not anti-consumer that people will now unfortunately fall out of a tiny window. If it annoys them that much, they can wait til the next sale window.

All I'm gonna say is, it's still a savage deal even at full price. I more than get value from it each year. Its like modern renting. And it's cheaper than when I was renting from Xtravision or the local shops back in the day.

I would argue moving renewal dates with no opt out costing players money is entitled.

Maybe Sony will surprise us and offer the opt out after the 5 days are added.

Seeing some discounts on joining PS Plus at the mo - Premium down to €99.99 for the year (Extra at the same price which is an odd one). Anyone thinking of it should a gander as they might have the same offer. No offer on Essential.

I didn't get a chance to get but going to start it next week. Hearing mixed things alright, very slow but great character building. Sounds like they probably should have waited to release both parts together.
