What Ev next for me?

I have the original Ioniq 28 premium SE which is a great car, love it completely and expecially love the gadgets like adaptive cc & blind spot dectection but after almost 4.5 years driving it and having to take longer trips more frequently it's getting time for a change.

    must haves

    Adaptive Cruise Control

    Front & rear parking sensors

    reversing Camera

    spacious boot

    lane assist or lane keep

    Would like

    BSD blind spot detection

    rear cross traffic alerts

    traffic sign recogniton

large battery or alternative very fast charging battery if its on the smaller size

I have considered the highland model 3 for less than 37k but it's a saloon car which isn't ideal for my dog and is definitely on the higher side of my budget and would prefer not to buy new although the lack of service intervals is brilliant with Tesla

Test drove an esoul which has everything but spaciousness and it didn't feel like an upgrade from my ioniq at all

The older kona doesn't have adaptive cruise control

I'm thinking a budget of about 22k which leaves room for an Ioniq 5 or Id4 or there is the option of older eniro but slow dc charging, whats the charging curve of the id4?

I probably have no issue buying an out of warranty battery car if they have a good reputation, I live 3.5hr round trip from most main dealers so don't want to be dealing with servicing twice a year which is what would happen with an ev6, 15k service interval I believe. I do about 27k annually. I would prefer OTA updates

Your budget fits a new Hyundai Inster Elegance perfectly. Only thing I don't think it has on your list is blind spot monitoring. Also possibly rear cross traffic alert.

Also the Peugeot 2008. Seems to tick all your boxes and in budget for a 2022 model. Like this one.

For some unknown reason 😉, the number of second hand Teslas on the market appears to be rising every day so keep an eye on carzone and donedeal etc if you're interested in one.

Great suggestions, thanks, I think an Inster is 4 seater so that would not be of interest, I should have said, I also would prefer not to buy brand new tbh.

The 22k option is my preferrred but I would not rule out the model y in the 30s either

As a fellow ioniq 28kwh driver I like the look of the megane e-tech, there are 2023 models available for under 30k now. I probably won't be changing this year but maybe next year, think it's between that and an ID3 for me at the minute.

Only downside of the megane seems to be the back seats look a bit cramped (and its a French car which a lot of people I talk to seem to have an issue with 😁)

Its a real shame there's no proper like for like replacement for the ioniq, seems to be either golf sized hatchbacks or crossover suvs are all that's on offer now.

I like spending other folks money, not as hard on my pocket 😋

I second the Renault Megane E-tech. Really lovely car. (I am biased because I have one! )

Have you considered the ID3?, it's a large car inside, the boot is slightly larger than your Ioniq but deeper.

Realistic range in Winter, 300-350km on National roads, obviously less on the motorway. Charging speed is 125kW max but 100kW is the most I have ever achieved.

The higher spec models have "Travel Assist" which is much better than the LKAS in your Ioniq, also the "Matrix lights" are excellent.

The infotainment system is a bit clunky but the most recent software version is very stable, and it has a 2 year service interval.

although i do have to pull the drivers seat up a bit, there's plenty room in the back for 3 teenagers

I'm v happy with mine overall.
