I won't be shedding tears for the demise of the financial cheats

Arsenal should put a cheeky bid in for Haaland ☺️

Seems like classic overthinking from Pep… maybe just play Lewis at fullback, play Nunes in midfield beside Kovacic, and drop one of your 4 attackers in favour of a bit of stability.

City crushed, I'm okay with seeing that, rather emjoyable actually.

Got some breaks with City mistakes and a key deflection, but when they play without the handbrake on (like the last quarter), they are excellent and should go on a long winning run.

I thought city were fortunate enough against little Brugge midweek. They won't be getting pass real Madrid.

Well they didn't break sweat really, he was right about that part.

City are appalling. Outside of Southampton and Ipswich, they are the worst side in the PL defensively now. Any team with the cojones to go at them and believe they can beat them, will rip them apart.

It's astonishing that up to very recently, pundits and fans etc were actually worried about this lot in regards the PL and other major trophies. They aren't winning anything this season. Half their players want out, Rodri injury, the result of the 115 charges will hit home soon.

They are completely done. Considering how tight it is for top 4/5, I think they'll do very well to make the CL next season. I don't think will make it and Guardiola will walk in the summer then.

Even if it happens (which I doubt), it's too late now. The maximum they can get is 83 points. Liverpool will definitely finish with more than that, Arsenal possibly too. I think it's, in theory, a 3-horse race, and unless Forest can get 9-10 points in their next 4 matches it will soon be a 2-horse race. I can still not see past Liverpool: I have been very impressed with them every time I see them, very effective football.

Haaland will get Skelly in the long grass. Great win for Arsenal. But City are awful. Pep is out of ideas. I was sure they’d have a Rodri replacement ready to go on Jan 1.

Arsenal will barely have an easier game in attack.

It's a statement win, obviously, but that game was zero indication of how they'll do against more robust teams.

As for Pep, he's lost. When he doesn't have the best, he's utterly one dimensional. All he has is 'let's keep doing this, but try to be better'. He can't figure out how to be compact. It's mad really.

Yeah, when Spurs went to the ethiad and beat them 4 nil, they've been broken since.

Pretty much cannon fodder for most teams these days. Long may it last. The Saudi Derby next week for them.

Through January they won 3 and drew 1. Scored 15 goals, conceded 4. Hardly a team I'd write off as cannon fodder.

West Ham, Brentford, Ipswich and Chelsea. I didn't know Salford were in the premier league.

yeah, only actually decent/impressive result they’ve had was the Chelsea one.

And of course utterly embarrassed by PSG and Arsenal in the last 10 days.

It's ridiculous, before the game City will win at a canter, after the game, Arsenal should be winning easily, City are shite.

This is crazy stuff. They've been a complete write off for months. Is anybody who actually talks about City going on a 15 game PL winning run actually watching their full games regularly?

They have been nothing short of appalling for months now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,007 ✭✭✭TheRona

There's a difference between saying they won't win the league and might even struggle to make the top 4, as opposed to making out they're some easy beat who you'd expect most teams to destroy. That's crazy stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 610 ✭✭✭FreshG

Massive win for arsenal fair play. They got some luck but they made the most of it. You have to do that. Game on now ted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 610 ✭✭✭FreshG

Does anyone know why Martinez hasn't been seen in the last few weeks talking to Sky about how Man Utd's mentality is so strong?

He, along with others, love the camera when they draw or win a game but are nowhere to be seen when they lose, which is most weeks.

But he's brilliant and one of the best CBs in the league according to the man utd fans in this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,579 ✭✭✭JohnySwan

I wouldn't engage, just enjoy a 5-1 drubbing of a team that have won 4 titles in a row. They're shite though, apparently.

There's no might struggle to make top 4, it's a statement of fact that they are struggling to make top 4. If Chelsea draw tomorrow night, City are in 5th place with two thirds of the season gone. 15 points behind Liverpool who also have a game in hand, 6 points behind Forest, a measly 1 points ahead of Bournemouth in 7th, just 5 points ahead of Fulham in 9th.

It's not an opinion to say that City have been shockingly bad this season, it's a fact.

Anybody watching their games regularly would see that teams realise not long into those games that there are gaping holes all over their midfield, all over their defence, and if clinical you can score a hatful of goals against them. As many teams have done over the past few months.
