A vital 3 points pressure on Arsenal to win tomorrow. TAA gone for a few games?

tough game, wasn’t pretty, but got it done. All we can ask for.

Also, to Ali doubters. He showed how good he was today, apart from some suspect punching 😂

I remember singing it decades a go anyway at Anfield.

A Liverbird upon my chest (upon my chest),

We are men of Shankly's best (of Shankly's best),

A team that plays the Liverpool way,

And wins the championship in May.

Unfortunately once it’s mentioned today that we have a fully fit squad again it was inevitable we’d start to pick up an injuries right away. Not even 1 game we got out of it .

Trent doesn’t do 1-2 games out , an injury like that where he’s sat down in that manner , I’ll be shocked if we see him in February at all then he has has get back to speed so that is problem. With Bradley fitness not dependable either it’s a worry he’s get a run of regular games and get a muscle injury again.

Expect slot to go full strength vs Spurs and totally rest the main team at weekend. Just hope injuries don’t mount up again at such a crucial time . The difference having jones and Nunez to come today as options and that depth is so important

I guess we just have to wait and see on TAA, how I wish we would sign a defender in January, hopefully we don't start losing lads and injuries costing us.

At least gomes is getting on the way back. We need to keep bodies available for the run in.

Joe gomez is back training so additional cover for the full back areas of TAA is out for a period

Still a long way to go but there’s a non zero chance that Arsenal could pack it in next few weeks if we keep getting results like that. That will have been annoying, Bournemouth were unlucky not to get something from the game.

Everton game looms large. I really do not care much about the two intervening cup games.

Can't see Arsenal winning tomorrow if City have their shoot boots on, they score a lot. 28 in last 7 games, so think they'll score, but can Arsenal score 3, if City score two, Arse have 11 in last 7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,878 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Draw in the Arse City match would be ideal I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 96 ✭✭kefflin

    I want a city win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,042 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

    Totally agree.

Winning the league would be massive.

We just need another few results to go our way and things could be nice and smooth..

But, if we pick up injuries playing in the cup competitions that derail our title bid it will hurt. And let's face it. Its happened before

Still, what a season we are having so you gotta have the same belief as the squad.

And they believe they can do it all

How come? Id much prefer Arsenal to get nothing from the game.

I was very worried about this game so im delighted with that result.

They are one hell of an intense outfit these days and they have quality now too.

I feel the game turned when TAA came off , suddenly we looked a far better and infinitely more solid side with him gone.

My worry now turns to Everton, they are scoring a lot lately.

Looking for City to win tomorrow 🤮 to keep the margin to 9 points. Normally I wouldn't but it will mark off the weekend nicely after the wins for LFC and Ireland 👌

I'm away so wasn't able to watch the game with any proper analysis.

    Delighted though.

Just feels like such a massive hurdle passed.

    I love you, Mo

    big alright.

If City can take something from Arsenal tomorrow, and we can manage to pull out a decent win against Everton, I think it’ll feel a bit like it did after the Leicester game in 2020.

If Arsenal don't win tomorrow then a draw away to Everton is fine. Anything else is a bonus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,026 ✭✭✭kingshankly

wash out your mouth a draw against the bitters is never fine NEVER !!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,638 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

    That was a delightful win.

    I want a draw tomorrow.

I don't think Arsenal can put in a run that will threaten but the fear of Man City is still in the back of my head (I know I know).

Even if City win tomorrow, they will do well to break the 70 points tally. They are completely broken, cannot run whatsoever. Every side in the PL knows it at this stage, that if you attack them there's goals galore to be had.

A win for City tomorrow puts the title race completely to bed.

Go strong v Spurs on Thursday. Roughly the team that played PSV v Plymouth (+ Gomez hopefully) and strong again v Everton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭Talisman

All the pressure is on Arsenal from this point on. With 15 games remaining for both teams, they are 9 points behind and Liverpool have a +12 better goal difference. If they lose tomorrow then they will be only 3 points ahead of Man City who turned into a basket case at the end of October.

Ali was back to his best today. Great to see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,287 ✭✭✭giveitholly

His save in injury time was unreal, great reflexes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,573 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Yea very good. He's had an ok season by his standards, especially since coming back from injury.

If Arsenal lose to City tomorrow, Liverpool could conceivably lose 5 of their remaining 15 PL games and win the PL title, once they also beat Arsenal at Anfield in that sequence. All that being while Arsenal would need to win 13 of their remaining 14 fixtures (besides that loss to Liverpool). That would be just to end up level on points.

If Arsenal lose tomorrow, the title race is completely done. Liverpool would probably be 1/10 outright post match if it does happen (but imo their price should be 1/33 in that scenario).

Any Liverpool fan wanting Arsenal to win or draw tomorrow, over a fear of City, really needs to look at the mathematics of the situation.
